Other things which for the avoidance of doubt do not belong on pizzas include pineapple or fruit of any kind and fish/shellfish. So, you and the others that 'don't like fruit' on your pizza, don't like tomato on your pizza's either then vox?

Well, I do sometimes laugh as LOUD as I possibly can. This is to attract attention to the fact that I am laughing at a racist joke. This is to try and provoke someone to take me to task (or even better to call me racist), thus allowing me to heroically fight my corner against Political Correctness. Oh god ..I dont .I stare at them stony faced and tell them its not funny in case someone overhears me laughing and calls me racist

Everyone knows that tomatoes are only fruit by default. Same as avocados.

Tomato is not a fruit in these terms, any more than a pepper or a chilli is.

Some varieties of tomato are almost proper fruit - so sweet that you could put them in a fruit salad. I think I might grow some this year.
I'm almost wetting myself with excitement btw - it's the first batch of seed-sowing coming up this weekend.

I'll be sowing most stuff in pots in my greenhouse, apart from the turnips which are going straight in.
I couldn't get a ticket for the Oxford clash of the titans, so I was going to go to Everton, but I think I'll just watch it on telly in the pub instead.
Pub, ale, footy, nicely tipsy on a Sunday afternoon...makes life worth living.

I want to get one of those compost bags you can hang up and whack herbs in, but don't know when is the right time to plant them. Can I do it now if I keep it indoors until April?

Yeah it should be OK I think. Apart from Basil maybe. Which is just plain old impossible to grow.
I always buy plug plants for herbs - just can't get the buggers to grow from seed.

Basil is a piece of piss to grow unless you scoff through it by the pound. All you have to do is lob water at it and stick in a window.
God knows how you manage to coax supds out of the ground if you can't even do herbs, which let's face it are the gardening equivalent of a tricycle.

I've grown basil from seed but it's a right bastard. Easiest things to grow from seed are rocket and coriander, but both go to seed quickly, too. Need to keep a firm, firm hand on them.

The Gardening Gods work in mysterious ways. Perhaps it's the climate here in the mean working class streets where I live. I dunno. Just never seems to work. Perhaps I'll try again.

I'm feeling smug as smug can be because I've grown something from SEED - seed that I took out of the original fruit BY HAND. That's got to be worth Gradening Brownie Points, surely?
Someone gave me a few really hot hot hot chillis last year - they looked like miniature bell peppers but were pale orange and the hottest fresh chillis I'd ever tasted.
So when I got to the last one I scraped the seeds out and didn't throw them away, I sort of stuck them on some kitchen towel and dried them out. Then when I could be arsed, I stuck them in some compost in a pot on the windowsill. Fek me - they started growing.
Now I've got a dozen seedlings an inch high and I'm trying to find enough holding thingies to separate them out in. Damn but I feel productive. And smug. Did I mention smug?

That is top quality Gardenage mate. Seed is one thing - seed you saved yourself is a different level altogether. You'll be getting secret handshakes soon.

Whoo-hoo, I feel absurdly proud that I've done something massively successful - since I'm just such a klutz at all things gardening, as a rule. And if they actually grow fully and I get to pick chillis from them I shall probably expire from delight in a frothy loam of pride and peppers. Although I did manage a few baby new potatoes last year in a couple of tubs. So, encouraged by this, I might even have a go at some other easy veg this year. Gotta admit, it doesn't half taste nice, fresh taters. ;D
