That's the way to integrate them. Once the evangelizers hit them with the stunning persuasive power of the story of the man who was his own father and had himself tortured to death but really wasn't dead, the Muslims will abandon their funny ways and see the light. They'll all become very, very nice and turn their other cheeks when there's any trouble. Anglicans called on to convert non-Christian believers Ruth Gledhill, Religion Correspondent Anglicans were commanded to “go forth and evangelise” yesterday in a dramatic assertion of missionary fervour that could jeopardise carefully built-up relations with Muslims, Jews and other faiths. ... The move echoes 19th-century missions to Britain’s overseas colonies, with the difference being that modern-day evangelicals want to be mandated to carry out these missions on home turf. The Rev Nezlin Sterling, who represents the black-led churches and is a minister in the New Testament Assembly, said that the marginalisation of Christianity was proceeding at a rapid rate, with further examples reported every day. ... Evangelisation should be a priority, she said. “Every person in my mind is a potential convert.” www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article5711595.ece

I would prefer that the more extreme preachers of all religions were converted to charcoal

You please yourself who you worship... or don't worship, and leave that PERSONAL choice to everyone else.

The word religion comes from a Latin word which means to bind.or unite, fat chance of that happening.

I think you may be right joyce. At the end of the day it is our own personal choice which faith to follow and there is nothing worse than having someone else's faith rammed down your throat. Having said that we should all try to be tolerant of other faiths although we may disagree with their teachings.

Can you imagine a world without religion.
What do we get from it?...it doesn't pay the bills, feed your family or even educate you into any form of stability.

You could say the same about TV, but look how many hours a day people invest in watching it.

You please yourself who you worship... or don't worship, and leave that PERSONAL choice to everyone else. Generally, people don't make a personal choice. Their religion is decided for them by their parents. Christian evangelists would say that people who've got into the 'wrong' religion should have the opportunity to learn about Jesus and, when they do, they'll turn Christian.

Just what is the incentive to evangelicizing? Do they reckon they get brownie points in heaven? Or does it have something to do with smug reassurance?

It is a well known fact that the majority of mortal human beings need the crutch of religion as a source of comfort and to keep them in line. Since they have a wide choice of crutches of all shapes and sizes, I'd rather they choose a relatively innocuous pair, say Buddhism, Christianity or Judaism, than an overtly violent and totalitarian one like Islam or Aztec paganism.

Well it is true there are not many Anglicans flying large planes into tall buildings or blowing up folks on their way to work.
Perhaps its not such a bad idea after all our government have failied to protect folk from the extremes of these people. Somone got to do the job but wether The Anglicans are the ones to do it is debatable.
Somone does need to tell them that murder and mayhem commited on innocent peopleis wrong.
Having said that I do feel I would rather have an Anglican living next door to Me than a homocide bomber wouldn't you?

What about a Muslim rather than a serial rapist Anglican?
Personally I don't care what race or religion my neighbours have as long as they are peaceful, law abiding, good neighbours.

So Anglicans want to do what Muslim missions do in their own country.
Well we are supposed to live in a democratic Christian Country and as a Roman Catholic I can listen to what they have to say and accept or reject it without being so insecure in my beliefs that I feel the need to bomb, behead or otherwise harm them but then again I do belong like the Anglicans to a faith that has learnt from the past and has grown out of the thousand years old barbarism of ancient times, nor do I feel the need to supress freedomof religious expression unless it manifests itself in murder, opression.or Nazi Facist style bullying.

it is true there are not many Anglicans flying large planes into tall buildings or blowing up folks on their way to work. People of Christian denominations are in state armies which can destroy buildings and people from the comparative safety of helicopter gunships, fighter planes and missile command sites. No great difficulty for the meanest Christian coward to inflict mass murder.
