Well. We're all so keen to see him in power, yes? Or at least, we don't think he'll be any worse than Labour? Dave is apparently "very frustrated" that he can't "speak directly to the people", so I reckon we should ask him some questions. So Dave - when you wanted a "bonfire of regulation" in the City, and wanted to let Northern Rock fail - you didn't really mean it did you? Or How would scrapping the human rights act help stop the erosion of civil liberties, Dave? How would more PFI and private schools and faith schools improve education, Dave? God this just makes you cringe... from a wannabee PM? Embarrassingly student. "Cameron Direct" for the love of God! Dave says: "I sometimes get frustrated that everything in this job is done through the media, rather than directly with people. So this week I launched 'Cameron Direct', which is like the old-fashioned town hall meetings, where anyone can come and ask their question - regardless of which party they support."www.conservatives.com/News/News_stories/2009/02/Cameron_Direct_in_Brighton_and_Hove.aspx

Course, it might not be as "interactive" as WebCameron wants us to think. I dunno. You might have to be in Brighton to get to ask an actual question. And an approved Tory member (and let's face it, who else but Tory supporters would go to a Cameron sermon on a Friday night?)
But still - I reckon we could come up with some good questions for our "future Prime Minister" (stop laughing at the back) on this board. Anyone?

"So, Dave, according to theyworkforyou.com, you were very strongly in favour of the invasion of Iraq, and now you are strongly in favour of an investigation into that war. Does that mean you were suckered into believing false evidence, or are you merely cynically trying to exploit the issue to discomfit the government?
"And, whichever answer you provide, how does this qualify you to lead our country?
"And, if you want to be so in touch with the feelings of the people, how did you fail to notice the million+ who took part in the Stop the War demonstration?"

Yoy would do well to ask Gordon the same question. Nobody has embraced the PFI more than Labour. Its a cop out you see, have schools and hospitals built by PFI, and Joe Public picks up the bill later.

" Mr Cameron, do you plan to bring charges of treason against Blair and Brown for turning the country into an insipidly oppressed lefty dungheap? Do you plan the internment and Nazi-style mass murder of excess bureaucrats? Will you mount the head of Hazel Blears on a pike? Will you force David Blunkett to play pin-the-meat-cleaver-on-john-Prescott? Aw, go on."

Good questions Lala.
Anyone think of any others? Or are we just going to let "Dave" become Prime Minister (no, really, stop laughing - it really could happen, it's that serious) without asking him what he might DO?

Hi Dave. I was wondering if you could outline any single one of your policies, as I seem to have missed them all somehow (not including that one about getting ASBO yooves to do the Duke of Edinburgh Award, cos to be honest I think that one was silly).

Well I've mentioned 2 definite policies in the opening post, VHW.
Others: forming a power bloc with the far right in European parliament Giving tax breaks for marriage.

"Given that you opposed the ban on fox hunting, and the introduction of ID cards, you must be a strong believer in liberty and human rights. Why haven't you spoken up on behalf of the British citizens or residents detaineed at Guantanamo Bay, and objected more strenuously to our involvement in the CIA's renditions?"

Dear WebDave,
You have promised to whittle down tax credits. How do you propose to compensate those millions of poorer people earning £15 downwards who would lose out, given that the savings alone won't be enough to cut their tax to the same value as their current tax credit?
PS - I know this is a complicated point of economics, which let's be fair isn't your strong point, but I'lll let you ask Ken if you like.

"Dave, the Telegraph declared your wife to be the seventeenth most important Tory in Britain, because she can whisper 'sweet nothings' in your ear, even though she has no official position and we didn't get to vote her into the role. So should we just vote for her instead, or will you promise not to listen to her once you become PM?" Gets him into trouble whether he says yes or no. 'strue about her being the 17th most important Tory, by the way: www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/conservative/3088666/Top-100-right-wingers-25-1.html

Dear Webcameron
Given your commitment to green policies as evidenced by your personal use of microgeneration and cycling in London, as well as your general statements, can you give specific commitments to how you would achieve greenhouse emissions reductions of the order of the 80% that the IPCC suggest are needed? Can you commit to tramelling the planning process to force through the nuclear power stations and tidal barrages that will be needed to hit this target? Or are you going to allow due process and allow each of these projects to proceed at the usual glacial (if glaciers still exist when they come on stream) pace of these kinds of large projects in the UK?

Dear Dave
Why is John Redwood still anywhere near the levers of power?

Dear Dave Why is John Redwood still anywhere near the levers of power? Massive cuts in regulation. JUST what we need to stop Credit Crunch style things happening, isn't it CryberDave? No? No? Tory leader David Cameron is looking at plans to cut £14bn in red tape and regulation for UK businesses. The plans have been put forward by John Redwood - one of the most senior figures on the Tory right - who called them "a tax cut by any other name". news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6942722.stm
