I couldn't possibly have a baby that was ill or disabled in such and extreme way. It is a selfish decision on my part, there is no way I would cope or find the strengh to have a child that was that ill as it would completely take over my life.
My brother and Sister in Law cant have kids, so I have really thought about this issue - being able to have the gift of children when others close to you cannot is very difficult.

I wouldn't like to have two heads. One's more than enough for me. And imagine being born on the cusp with one head Scorpio and the other Sagittarius. Choosing a hat for example would be a real problem. And imagine if you didn't get on...
Imagine going out for a walk, you know, you're feeling a bit lousy so you decide to go for a walk to clear the air (providing you can agree on that) and you round the corner and what do you meet? A bunch of schoolkids. Or an aggressive drunk. Or just a High Street full of shoppers. All staring at you. Some fainting.
Nah, fcuk that. I think I'd top mys...

Not me, I'd shoot the other head and have it removed. I'd tell the authorities, he topped himself.

How many of you know someone who was severely disabled from infancy?
How many of you have had a severely disabled person tell you as a trusted confidente what they really feel about their quality of life...not just the face they show to the world?
I have, and I wouldn't ask another human being to take on a life that has that possibility of living every day in despair. It is unbelievably cruel to do it if it can be avoided. Every disabled person deserves the best care and as many chances in life as possible. That is very different to deliberately inflicting it on a child and potential adult.

I agree Puff (on a serious note). I'll admit to being someone who accepts reincarnation as a fact, so yes, I'd prevent the birth of a malformed infant not only on grounds of compassion for the unborn but also knowing that it wouldn't be the end.

I suppose it's a toss of the dice how conjoined twins get "wired".

I don't think I could go through with it. I just couldn't. I would have to abort. What kind of life are these twins expected to have?

That should have been a green glow, not red.

The report I heard was that doctors had advised a termination as the babies had only a 20% chance of survival and it would save the mother a lot of heartache along the line. I think they are right, not just for her but for the infants if they do survive. It also saves them alot of money and energy on pepole they see as sub-human. Im proud of the mother !

Who said they were sub human?
They will, if they survive, be all too human, with every human emotion and feeling. That is just the point. Humanity would not submit them to a life such as they will have. If it were possible, and it never can be, for the twins to feel that they are no different to anyone else and were having a normal life and missing nothing that would be fine. I don't give a damn what anyone else feels about them. If they think of them as subhuman then shame on them, I'm more concerned about how they will view their own lives.

#54: "a soul doesnt exist without the person thinking they have one in the first place, so a soul couldnt choose either way "
My understanding is that the soul is eternal. The body is the vehical of the soul that actually manipulates all the cognative aspects of "being".

The difference between the UK conjoined twins and the American conjoined twins is that the American twins each have control of one arm each, and have separate hearts. The UK twins only have one heart, and one body, but have two heads. It is unknown which brain would be able to control which limbs. The American twins although they seem to operate separately at the top half of their body, the bottom half is singular and the girls do not have separate bowels and reproductive organs. The bottom half is normal as if one person. This makes both sets of conjoined twins incomparable.
