......... and bored. Why is it that when a thread runs to so many post and it has to be read on several pages - page 1 being the oldest and 2, 3, 4 etc being more recent......... However, when there are too many threads to display the numbering system is reversed ? Have a look on the News Threads - I was trying to find the very first post on here but the numbering system for pages means that page 1 is current and 2, 3, etc are older ! I don't know if it's possible in proboards but in yuku the managers can change the post order so that the more recent posts are on page 1 and the older ones are later.
Maybe it's something they could look at?

Quite right Puffin, the Managers can alter the order of the pages in Aimoo too.

No Puff ........please don't do that. Think of it as reading a book - the first, and older, page you read is page 1. The rest are in ascending order. So you turn BACK to lower page numbers to re-read a previous page. At least I think that's what I mean (damn this second bottle of wine)

You got used to reading them that way on MSN news, Beachy. The recent posts were always the current page and you had to go back to find the previous ones. Think of being half way through a book and 1 being the page you are on and going back to look at previous pages.

I think Beachy might need another bottle of wine to fathom that out lol!

LOL - NO Puff ........ I got used to reading pages numbered that way in school (not on MSN)
No. 1 is the first page and the rest climb numerically higher.
If number one is the current page in the middle of a book and the previous pages are in descending order - What's the number of the NEXT page gonna be ?

I'm with Beachy - Confused of Cumbria I too was taught to read a book from Page 1 onwards and never liked the MSN design of the newest first. I'm in favour of Page 1, 2, 3, etc. though I would appreciate the text being a bit bigger as it is really footery to get your cursor on the page you want. I'm sure it will work out eventually, lets face it we jumped in here before Foxy was ready to open the door (probably because I made an unofficial announcement over in the old place last week)

You can make text move by using the 'Marquee' button and inserting text between the code .. (move) TEXT GOES HERE (/move)
Just do the same in the signature box - but you have to type the code in yourself.

I've had to substitute the ( ) signs in my example to stop it working.
Instead of ( ) you have to use [ ]
(hope that makes sense)
