Good. Whiners. "A Muslim student at a London school has lost a High Court challenge against its ban on prayer rituals. Michaela School in Brent was taken to court by the girl over the policy, which was said to be discriminatory. The non-faith state secondary school previously told the High Court that allowing prayer rituals risked "undermining inclusion" between pupils. The school's founder and head teacher Katharine Birbalsingh said the ruling was a "victory for all schools". In an 83-page written judgment dismissing the student's case, Mr Justice Linden said: "The claimant at the very least impliedly accepted, when she enrolled at the school, that she would be subject to restrictions on her ability to manifest her religion." www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-68731366The ruling makes sense. The school has a rule. Unless she was forced to attend that school with no other options it seems fair to say “those are the rules”. Especially where they cannot prove she faced any hardship in following the rules or the rules were not applied fairly.

“ In March 2023, up to 30 students began praying in the school's yard, using blazers to kneel on, the High Court heard. Pupils are not allowed to gather in groups of more than four, including in the school yard. The school introduced the ban in the same month due to concerns about a "culture shift" towards "segregation between religious groups and intimidation within the group of Muslim pupils", the court was told.”
Ok I feel a little bit of empathy now if the rule was introduced post her commencing at the school.

Queer, isn't it, how the woke left think in exactly the same way? You are really quite mad.

Is Michaela School a person or a thing?

I also had to renew my unconscious bias training. Unconscious bias? What a cheek. My biases are very deliberate!

Ah! "It was established in September 2014 with Katharine Birbalsingh as headteacher and Suella Braverman as the first chair of governors. It has been described as the "strictest school in Britain",[3][4][5][6][7][8] and achieved among the best GCSE results in the nation among its first cohort of students." Sounds pretty standard: Muslims wanting special treatment and access to all the advantages in out society, while simultaneously refusing to fit in. They spoil everything in the end. Muslim. "In March 2023, up to 30 students began praying in the school's yard, using blazers to kneel on, the High Court heard. As I remember at the time the religious fucknuts behind this were not content to do their hoodoovoodoo quietly making it a personal reflection of their faith, but, as always happens with religious types, they were making it a performance and a spectacle while harrassing any other kids who were just going about their break and they were also bullying other nominally Muslim pupils who didn't get in on the performance, then when told they stop they acted all persecuted.
This is why I'm of the firm opinion, religion, all religion, has no place in schools, the workplace, where ever people gather to just enjoy a few moments of peace and so on.
Sadly we have a lot of groups funding these challenges, be they to prayer or crosses, or hijabs, or other accommodations being sort. I'm always glad when these challenges fail.

Religion in school is fine if it's written on the tin. I wouldn't send my kids to an overtly religious school.

I think it's still the law that schools must have some sort of religious "instruction". Or isn't it? When I was at school, we had very, very minimal religious stuff. But anyway, it seems to be mostly Muslims that are screeching about it.

Funny old thing, this. Michaela School seems like a terrible person, and the Birbalsingh Academy seems particularly unpleasant and has moderately good results as a result of all kinds of cheats to the system. It is designed as a non-replicable one off to be adored by dim witted Telegraph readers who want us to all go back to the good old days of rote learning, spankings, and boys wanking on digestive biscuits.
But in this instance I don't think they're wrong. Kids shouldn't be praying in school.

Prayers in assembly just about covered that, but I think that's all been dropped now.

It's increasingly getting mixed with Philosophy too, so not preaching. More like, teaching about what people gain from religion. Glad I don't have that job. Much prefer computers to weird humans.

Why do you hate the mentally ill? Is that why you love chopping up kids' genitals and making them miserable forever? Police!

What a daft bint. And the ridiculous backpedal on her comments… She should just admit she made a crappy assumption and got it wrong. www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/rachel-riley-twitter-sydney-channel-4-b2528755.html?utm_term=pos1&utm_source=taboola&utm_medium=related&utm_campaign=embed1“ Rachel Riley has said she is “sorry” after posting a tweet appearing to link the Sydney attack to Islamic extremism. The Countdown star, who once called social media a “cesspit of hate”, is facing calls to be sacked by Channel 4 after falsely suggesting the fatal incident was linked to a rise in support for Palestine Six people were killed in the attack, which police said was carried out by Joel Cauchi of Queensland. After news of the stabbing surfaced, Riley wrote: “For six months now, people have been out on our streets proudly calling for the ‘Intifada Revolution’. If you want to know what ‘Globalised Intifada’ looks like, see the Sydney Mall.” Sydney mall, multiple times over is what they’ve been proudly calling for.’ Riley’s post has been heavily accused of perpetuating Islamophobia, and on Sunday (14 April), the TV star issued what she described as a “clarification” of her comments. “Just to clarify, my intention with this tweet was not to say this attack was caused by any ideation or to link it to Islamic extremism,” she said, adding: “At the time we did not know who the attacker was, and as such I made no reference.” Referencing the marches calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, Riley said: “My aim was to highlight the weekly calls for ‘intifada’ being tolerated in London and around the world, which in actuality means violence on our streets. Sadly, the type of attack seen in Sydney yesterday is exactly the kind of violence the previous intifada involved and I hope to avoid in future, but in my opinion ignoring the problem won’t make it go away.” She’s not linking the attack to Islamic extremism….but then continuously does so?! “ She added: “I too have been subject to assault in recent months and it was a Muslim woman and her husband who came to see if I was ok afterwards. I’m grateful to them and wish to undo any offence caused to the community.” LOL LOL LOL LOL!
