At the moment we are listening to internet radio. We are tuned in to Kickin' Country, an American station. Mr P is a long time country fan and has converted me over the years. If you can't bet 'em, join 'em.

Misconception of modern country music,Treacle.
Much of today's country music is crossover. You see a lot of it in the general charts.

I know, I know - I have got my fair share of Dixie Chicks, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban downloads!

I have to admit to liking to listen to traditional country and Blue grass when I want a lift. It's hard to be down when the music you listen to is lively and upbeat.
I do like Country, but I like Rock and Roll, Motown and anything from Bach to the Beetles depending on mood.
I havn't found anything in House or Garage 'music' that has made me do anything but cringe as yet though.

I too like a bit of Blue Grass - bit like Scottish/Irish Trad music - good for a drunken jig!!! (he he!)

Oh we do play our share of trad Scottish/Irish too. MrP is Irish with a Scots father and my dad was a Scot with a Scottish/Irish dad and mum. It's in the blood, you might say.

One of my wishes is to get to see Runrig play live at Edinburgh Castle. They did last summer, but no way could we get there, and the seats sold out in a nanosecond!

I'm listening to Pilooski Dirty Edits - they 're-did' that Frankie Valli Beggin' track (bit overplayed now), but I really like their versions of Del Shannon 'Gemini' and their edit of that song in Silence of the Lambs when the nutcase is dancing about having tucked away his groceries - 'Goodbye Horses' by Q. Lazarus.
Also 'Kings of Hip hop' compilation with one record classic early 90s hip hop and the other record the soul songs that inspired them, like Nina Simone's 'Don't Explain'.
Classical - discovering Ravel, 'Bolero' and 'Daphnis and Chloe'.
Folkish - Patrick Wilson LP 'Close to Paradise'; Alela Diane 'Pirate's Gospel'

Ahhh, the Sound of Silence - with no ads. Bliss! That's if we're talking about radio. I have nearly given up on radio listening. Turn radio off when ads are on - forget about turning it back on again, and when I do remember, I get the ads again!!
