Mr Assange took refuge at the embassy in June to avoid extradition to Sweden, where he faces questioning over assault and rape claims, which he denies. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19285099

The "Brits" as you call them are honour-bound to extradite Assange for what are serious allegations of criminal behaviour. As said "Brits" have faith in the Swedish legal system, they probably have faith that he will receive a fair hearing.
Ecuador and others would do well to remember this and to bear in mind the difficult position the "Brits" now find themselves in. Likewise, 'tis always worth bearing in mind that what goes around comes around, so the next time Ecuador wants someone extradited ... ?

I'm stunned by the ease with which you put forward your case, your incisive wit, and your overpowering use of reasoning and logic.
I doff my cap sir.

'doff my cap' being slang for 'spunk on your gibbering', of course.

if he IS innocent of the rape charges, wy does he not come out of the embassy and face the music and clear his name?

Imagine if you knew that charges levelled against you were entirely false, by powers that wanted to discredit you?
Wouldn't be much point facing the music, would there?
(Not saying that's the case, btw. Don't much care either, but running does not necessarily indicate guilt).

if the charges were from some banana republic like France or Somalia, then yes he might have some ground for a bit of a moan, but Sweden ffs, its hardly a known hot bed of repression is it, its often touted as one of the most open and liberal societies on the planet.

oh and if the US didn't seek extradition from the UK, who almost always rolls over and hands them who ever they want, its not very likely Sweden who have a more robust approach to these things is gonna suddenly hand the raping self publicist over are they?

Weird how some people think it is okay for men to go about violating women and then do a runner. the man is a creep and an (alleged) predator. Are people really incapable of separating his (grossly exaggerated) role with Wikileaks and his sex life?
