I expect I show up as a 'Guest' whenever I pop by, I rarely bother to sign in, although when I do, I am invisible (I think I need to go and change my settings or something). I read the board at least 3 times a week, by the time I have read a few threads I am usually so fed up with the personal attacks I see going on and the swearing, that I just cant be bothered to join in. There are some brilliant and witty threads, but more often than not, there seem to be a few with rather large chips on their shoulders who constantly feel the need to try and put others down, rather than just debating the subject. Now, I am reasonably familiar with most of the posters, imagine how someone who isnt would view their contributions and its then little wonder that few of them venture onto the board. Anyway, thats my tuppence worth as to why I think you end up with a large number of 'guests' compared to posters. Its a brave person who sticks their head above the parapet in here |

You are so right, and although we have tried to stop the attacks, it just seems to draw out the nastiness even more. Doesn't help on the News Board that only Cathy and myself have been around to try and get some form of order back. To many though it's water off a ducks back, and we have little in the way of authority to do a lot about it. Foxy is the only one with full Admin powers and she doesn't seem to be around much for a while.
I feel that if people won't change attitude then this site is just going to fold in time. I get many complaints by PM, some I sort OK, other times I am tied to Mod status and can do nothing. I was advertising the site, and quite a few newbies came in, but I have given up on that now as only the very bravest have attempted to post, and for all the members we have here, that's very few.
Time will tell Devon.
