I think the auto censor is a good thing,
1. gives the monitors more time to avoid emails from those that disapprove of swearing.. 2. Gives those that do swear a chance to start threads to complain about it. 3. more threads and posts, more golden stars.
everyone is a winner.

Surely nobody is so bereft of profitable ways to pass the time that they email moderators on an internet forum to complain about swearing?

Surely nobody is so bereft of profitable ways to pass the time that they email moderators on an internet forum to complain about swearing? Surely you jest? I know someone who used to work on the BBC's Have Your Say and about 60% of complaints was from sad sacks who had nothing better to do than whine about naughty words.

They email, the moderators start a thread, then we post.

apparently it happens a lot. On the BBC food boards there are forever people hitting the complain button because a post 'isn't about food' and it gets quite silly sometimes.

For some reason the adverts on this site annoy me a lot more than the MSN ones did. Even the ones wth pictures of nymphs in their undies.

God. Whatever happened to speaking up for yourself? What kind of wet feebles need mummy to sort it out for them even into adulthood? And what kind of too-delicate-for-this-cruel-world saddoes get worked up about a swear word anyway?
I truly don't know how some people manage to get through life.

You might like to try doing the same. There's no reason to be using Internet Explorer any more to use this forum.

Why should I not be able to discuss my love for Cockburns Port?

Watchman, you seem to know about this stuff - IE crashes on Vista constantly, and Firefox is the worst thing I've seen since Last Night At The Museum. Is there a third way, something that doesn't crash but has some functionality, maybe?

How come Andy can talk freely about s p o o n s and the rest of us cannot? What form of outrageous discrimination is this?
