Blimey, drowsy, the stories in that link are frightening. No, not the way car Carcraft treat customers, but the sheer naivety of the people who posted those messages.
For example, this one's a beauty:
I was in the reception for this time (6 hours) with my 1 year old baby (luckily i had brought food!!!!). Initially, the finance was going to be £80 per month, but by the time I had finished with the finance man it was £161 per month!. I had already paid my £1500 deposit by then and waited so long I couldnt be bothered to argue I just wanted to get out of there!
So, this woman's chosen the car, she's been given an estimated cost of the monthly rentals which turns out to be half of the actual monthly cost, she's handed over £1,500 deposit before she even knows the actual monthly rental cost, and then decides to go through with a deal she's massively unhappy about because she wanted to get home and couldn't be bothered to ask for her deposit back! This is truly unbelievable.
How about this one?
I wish readers to know that the Warranties sold by Carcraft on behalf of a firm called National Automotive Cover (NAC), who are in fact CC automotive Group Ltd, of Rochdale, better known to readers as CARCRAFT. NAC are NOT REGISTERED with Companies House as a company.
Erm, no sh1t Sherlock? Of course NAC are not a registered company with Companies House. Registered companies at Companies House are limited liability businesses. The ones with the letters Ltd at the end of their name, such as, er, CC Automotive Group Ltd. NAC is a trading name of that limited liability company which would definitely be registered at Companies House.
I hate companies which exploit people's weaknesses and con them, but I have to say, the more I read through those complaints, the more I started warming to Carcraft. I really wasn't aware there could be so many gullible people among the car buying public of the UK. The only thing that has shocked me is the thought that the people writing those complaints actually had the intelligence to switch on a computer and find that website in the first place.
