I wonder if any of our contributors have any interesting frozen pizza related incidents to tell us about?

If a thing is specifically named "baking paper" I think it's reasonable to expect you can bake it in an oven without it catching on fire. And that's all I have to say on this matter.

Why would you even put a pizza on baking paper, rather than just on a baking tray?

Ironically enough, I had this wild idea that it would lessen my cleaning duties after cooking. Anyway, this really isn't news (except possibly to my neighbours and I don't think any of them post here, let's just move on.

By the way, what kind of freak puts ricotta on a pizza? Some found its way on to mine the other day and I have no idea which idiot is responsible for this monstrosity.

what kind of freak puts pizza on a baking tray? Unless you're heating authentic pizza is a proper megahot oven you put it directly onto the shelf otherwise it goes SOGGY

Pizza is supposed to be soggy; if the base is crispy then you've screwed up.

I use a pizza stone that's pre-heated in a really hot oven, of course. And I make my pizza from scratch, no frozen nonsense here. But if I had no pizza stone and a frozen pizza, I may well use a baking tray.

Previous efforts at putting it onto the shelf resulted in cheese seepage and a tedious fifteen minutes attempting to scrape it off said shelf.
Look really, this should be moved to ChitChat or preferably erased swiftly.

Pizza is meant to have some structural integrity, by the way - the crust at the edge should be crunchy. It's just the stuff in the middle that can have a degree of floppiness.

I hate crispy bases. It has to be a little soggy. But then I don't like pizza toppings anyway. Cook the pizza, then peel of the toppings an enjoy.
