OBITUARY

Joseph Bernstein, of Muswell Hill, died on Tuesday 13 September at St Mary's Hospital. Born on March 14, 1940 in Ulm, Germany, he attended Luitpold Elementary School, Aargau Cantonal High School, and ETH Zürich. In 1966 he married Mileva Marić, and together they had 2 children, Hans and Eduard. They divorced in 1919 and Joseph was re-married to Elsa Löwenthal. Joseph worked as a patent clerk at the Swiss Patent Office and dedicated himself to children's charity. He served as a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and in 1997 he was awarded the International Humanity Prize. A unique soul, Joseph was greatly loved by all. He will be sorely missed. Joseph is survived by his wife and sons. A memorial service organized by Hiller Funeral Home will be held at Golders Green on September 18. Memorial donations may be made in Joseph’s name to the North London Jewish Community Council. Volvo for sale.
