I voted for the sky to fall on our ignorant, xenophobic heads.
I am bitterly disappointed that, yet again, we are living with the results of a political Establishment that was too complacent to sell the benefits of EU membership policy to us.

Had I realised that we could have remained in the EU and still suffered years of economic stagnation then I would never have voted to leave.
How could you vote to leave a club that offers this:
Recovery in the euro area has strengthened, but the medium-term outlook remains weak and is endangered by a lack of collective action to address common challenges.
The fragile recovery that started in the euro area in 2014 has strengthened on account of consumer spending as more people find jobs, lower oil prices, a neutral fiscal stance, and accommodative monetary policy. However, medium-term growth prospects remain less bright. “Inflation remains too low, and weak investment, still high unemployment, and the aging of the population will continue to hurt productivity, raising the risk of stagnation,”
Unless collective problems are resolved, the euro area is likely to suffer repeated bouts of economic and political instability leading to crises of confidence and economic setbacks.
You are clearly rascist, stupid and a gudgeon of the first water, swayed by the mendacity of Gove.

Siemens, the largest engineering company in Europe, has vowed to continue to invest in the UK despite the nation’s vote to leave the EU, backing away from earlier warnings.
The German company, which has 13 plants in the UK and employs 14,000 people across the country, was among multinational firms to openly back a Remain vote ahead of the referendum on June 23.
“We’re here to stay,” Joe Kaeser, Siemens chief executive, said at an event at the House of Commons on Monday.
“The UK matters with or without being a member of the EU. The Brexit vote will not diminish our commitment to your country. Siemens will not leave the next generation behind, ” Kaeser said.

Not much point in being right if you can't brag about it.
I don't want the UK to fail. Well, actually I do. I want the UK to split up, and for Scotland to become independent. Then I want all the former bits of the UK to do well.
"I have done nothing - can do nothing - don't want to do anything. One lives too long."
Anyone noticed how most of the Brexiters are actually trolls? (I exclude van as she's the only one here who's actually had anything to say to support her stance). Same on FB. Weird.
37% of the voting public, the dumb minority, have scratched their crosses in the box and in one fell swoop removed the PM and destabilised the country. If that's a well-run democracy my prick's a bloater.

Are you saying that the British economy is in as much of a mess as Italy's and the only hope we have is to be part of a race to the bottom, ripping out employment standards, getting ourselves out of the "regulation straightjacket" of the EU so we can run sweatshops, and devalue the currency so far that our crappy, low productivity workers can make something so cheap that the world is willing to buy it even if it is utter tat?
It's a little odd that you think Britain is so rubbish that it can't emulate Germany and has to, instead, emulate the worst performing members of the Eurozone.
"37% of the voting public, the dumb minority, have scratched their crosses in the box ..."
That's not a well run democracy. That's just democracy. Those Bremainers who stayed at home have no-one to blame but themselves, which is probably the one thing they have in common with the Brexiteers and their Pyrrhic victory. Current rebounds in the market are probably short-term market movements based around things being more certain than they have been since the result, but I am certainly not going to attribute this to any kind of long-term confidence in a UK outside Europe.
For the next few years there are going to be many opportunities for additional uncertainty and, whilst not wishing harm on the UK economy, I supect it will not be as strong as it would have been inside the EU. If I'm wrong I'll holy my hand up, but if I'm right, will the Brexiteers hold theirs up? Or will it be, yet again, someone else's fault?

It's a good job that the British economy is entirely dependent on a single, German, company, then.
It is probably worth noting that "continue to invest" does not, necessarily, mean "continue to invest at the same level". It's probably worth waiting to see
It looks like British science is getting f**k*d over.
As much because of the uncertainty as because of the Brexit itself. Because nobody has any f**k**g clue whether Britain will continue to fund joint research projects with the EU, all those projects are dumping British researchers until people know what's going to happen.
Of course, it is possible that under Tessa's Brave New World, Britain isn't going to become an anti-science isolationist little dump, but as nobody knows what's going on, in the meantime research is basically stopping...
