Talking of hardship forcing people into worse jobs, I went to a Jobcentre Plus yesterday to sign on.
That was interesting. Looking at the job notices was a slightly daunting experience. How much an hour?
Actually, if need be (i.e. a sudden outbreak of peace) I think I'd be happy to do a bit of van driving for a few months. I rather enjoy it.

Can't say exactly, but let's say nearer to the coast than Henfield. Not too close mind a it gets quite shabby by the sea.

Job centres, what fcuking demorolising places they are, staffed by people who don’t know a Surface Grinder from a Fettler. Job Centers are from Orwell’s, “1984” there are no jobs

Yeah, I suspect that any new job is likely to come from elsewhere.

You might find a shelf stacking job, possibly a self employed van driving job, (piss poor money, and lucky to break even after your fuel, insurance etc)
If you fancy a van driving job, get a Transit, and park on Ikea, the number of punters who buy stuff, then can’t get it in their Fiat 500, are looking for you 😉

I was amazed how shabby Bognor Regis is.

Yeah, think I've been there. Looked like it could have been nice once.

Haven’t we all been there, an en suite which is a toilet behind a sheet of plaster board

What's this obsession with having a bog in your bedroom anyway? Fair enough in hotel- you don't want to be trudging down the corridor at 3am but in your own house?

The effect of Brexit has been bad but not as bad as the most negative estimates forecast.

Bloody nose for Junkers and his cronies from the Italians then.
A majority of Italian voters supported Eurosceptic candidates in the national election on Sunday, preliminary results showed, after decades in which Italy has steadfastly championed the European project.
Early results released by the interior ministry on Monday morning, as ballots continued to be counted, pointed to a hung parliament, though there was still a possibility that the centre-right coalition, with about 37% of the vote, could eke out a victory once parliamentary seats are allocated.
Either result would represent a repudiation of Brussels by Italian voters less than two years after the UK narrowly voted to leave the European Union.

Isn’t this what Junkers et al were worried about, that the UK could leave and still prosper, and others would be tempted to follow suit?
