Well, they make a pretty decent submarine, not so sure about the airplanes.

And their planes dont break up if you have to land em in the river I'm sure the pilot, Captain Chesley Sullenberger will agree with that and that his aircraft was as much a hero as he and his co-pilot. It didn't break up. Quality built.

If the plane had ditched nose first, it would've been a whole different story voice.

If the plane had ditched nose first, it would've been a whole different story voice. That was down to the Captain and his co- pilot. They stopped it from hitting the water nose first. Twas a crew and aircraft thing without doubt but more the crew than the craft I'd think.

I completely agree, a magnificent plane with an incredible pilot! I think people tend to underestimate quite how clever these pilots are who keep their cool in these potentially fatal situations. The Airbus has an incredible safety record and this incident adds to the confidence passengers should have in her. (Planes are still referred to as female aren't they?!) news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/7834499.stm

Of course US Airways is trying to drum up business based on safety concerns.

And indeedy the engines are lying on the river bed. Captain and his crew are the heros of the whole miracle on the Hudson and ............... Airbus have had the greatest boost to their future sales imaginable.
