Mids cheering on the Nazi. No, no, no. I'm just reporting the truth. I'm neutral on this one. You’re funny. I wonder if Macron cried as hard as Mids will when Le Pen loses…

... and Le Pen concedes.
If the 58/42 exit polls are to be believed, then it’s an even bigger landslide than the 56/44 estimate from last week. Feel sorry for all the closet Nazis and latter day Vichy supporters out there, but hey - c’est la vie.

A really crappy result. But better than the other way around. Anyway, what sort of savages hold general elections on Sunday?

Yeah, it's like they chose the least disgusting, crusty pissflap, out of a choice of two disgusting, crusty pissflaps.
How very French.

Well done the French. Their fascists got a lower percentage than the UK ones in 2019.

Aye. And the BBC reportage of an election where a president incumbent was re-elected, unusual in itself, with a much greater majority was so Brrrrreeeetish - whiny, focussing on the negative and non-points. f**k me, what's happened to the UK? Like it's in terminal decline, riven with jealousy and spite, poison seeping into the souls of the people from the rot within its disastrous government (the leader of which can't even control himself at the sight of a woman's bare legs).

Ah, you're mistaking the BBC for the UK.

Oh I'm fully aware of that - I love the English, especially Londoners. On a more serious note it has to be said the British media holds too much sway over the British people. Why I don't know - it seems to be a British thing.

I think that's probably true. There's something very unhealthy about the power of the media in UK.

TBH, I have serious reservations about universal suffrage too. You have to wonder if it's sensible to give a vote to people who choose to read The Daily Star.
Maybe we should have a qualifier - you must have done some form of community service each year (not as a punishment) to qualify, that sort of thing.

Why is everybody saying “congrats”? 4 in 10 French voters wanted a Nazi? That’s incredibly disturbing. Akin to 40% of UK voters backing the BNP.

A basic education to the old 'O' level standard would be a start. Not the latest ones where you need a dozen of them before you can read and write.

Taking abstentions and the number of eligible voters into account, the number who voted for LePen was less than 20% of the population. Bad enough, but the next thing to take into account is that LePen attracted many new voters with her promises to reduce VAT to 5% and stop those under 30 paying income tax - both ridiculed by economists as unworkable.
