Impeachment seemed impossible a few days ago. Not anymoreThe “presumption of regularity.” It is a term largely unfamiliar to those outside legal or governmental circles but one that all Americans should now learn. Born of centuries-old common law, the presumption stands for the idea that government officials are presumed to act lawfully and in proper discharge their office – absent evidence to the contrary. Every elected and appointed official enjoys this presumption. It is not easily squandered. It is meant to withstand errors in judgment and lapses in leadership. What it does not indulge is a clear pattern of abuse. Once the presumption collapses, the official is no longer fit for office. This is the position that President Trump now finds himself in. What took Richard Nixon more than five years Trump has managed to accomplish in the narrow compass of four months. He has confirmed the worst fears of those who questioned his fitness for office. All the same, ten days ago, his staunchest critics might have called Trump a national disaster but essentially unimpeachable. Now it seems like just a matter of time before he is removed from office The announcement that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has appointed Robert Mueller III, the former FBI director, to serve as special counsel overseeing the Russian probe only strengthens the spreading sense that Trump is finished. What makes this appointment fatal to the president is not Mueller’s well-earned reputation for doggedness. It is the fact that the president’s own self-destructive behavior has altered the scope of the probe. No longer will the possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign be the focus. Front and center will be whether the president has obstructed justice – first, by entreating Comey to “let go” of the Flynn investigation, and second, by firing Comey. Also at issue will be whether Trump’s tweet – “James Comey better hope that there are no “tapes” of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!” – represents an attempt to tamper with a witness in an ongoing investigation.

The special prosecutor is a good idea but there is a drawback in that Comey & Mueller know each other having been each others boss at different times. This means that Comey, in order to allow Mueller to get firmly established, may postpone his testimony to Congress which was scheduled to be next week & in public & I was really looking forward to that.
But surely even Trump can see the writing on the wall.

There is no crime there, even if you put the most democrat spin on this possible, the dems are starting to sound like a broken record, they have been calling on impeachment since Nov. some dems are starting to tire of it. You know that IF Trump were to be kicked out, or resign, or whatever there will still be a Republican in the white house, right?

You must be listening to InfoWars and Breitbart. Democrats aren't tiring of this, in fact Republicans are getting fed up with Trump.
Apart from his shady dealings and (most probably) criminal acts, his bumbling ineptitude will make future history books read like a comedy.

Roger Ailes is gone, Bill O'Reilly is off the air, confederate statues coming down, Tomi Lahren got fired, Milo lost his book deal, Jason Chaffetz resigned, Michael Flynn gone and the Trump Administration is being torn asunder piece by piece. Is this what Trump meant by so much winning we'll be tired of winning?

Things are only getting worse for El Cheeto.
First it was revealed that he told the Russians in the Oval Office that he was glad to have fired that "nut-job" Comey, it took a lot of pressure off him (the Russians - the thing Comey was investigating - ffs).
Now we find out the the investigation under Mueller is closing in on Jared. And Comey will testify openly in front of the Senate in a couple weeks. And White House lawyers are already looking into preparing for the eventuality of impeachment.
He'll go down as the worst president in US history. The poor bastard (not that I feel sorry for the douche).

It's interesting that you think that Jared is involved, because when I first heard the news I immediately thought of him. I dismissed Bannen because I don't think he's sophisticated enough to pull something like that off and he doesn't have the contacts that Kushner has through his has world wide contacts with his father's business. Plus we know that his family is devious and manipulative re buying into Harvard. So I can fully believe that. Only time will tell, this is getting more and more like something out of a Le Carre novel.

Huge win for Trump supporters, this will really show them what they voted for Some 23 million people would lose health insurance over the next decade under the revised Trump healthcare plan, says a non-partisan agency. Fourteen million people would be uninsured in 2018 alone, according to the Congressional Budget Office. On top of the slashing of disability aid, medicare and the like, Trumpisters must be ecstatic to know they are paying so much towards the trillions for tax cuts for Trump and his rich buddies.

Just breaking on NBC that Kushner is directly under investigation for financial crimes associated with his links to Russia and the Trump campaign.
FBI are following the money.

I suspect that's why Comey was fired. Trump was quick to say he wasn't under investigation but, being economical with the truth, omitted to say his son in law was being investigated. He knew alright. Trump and his family and Kushner don't care 2 hoots about the American people, they are just a bunch of gold diggers out for what they can get. I've been saying all along that the Russians have something on Trump, either it's money, possibly dirty money, or some other nasty stuff.

What a statesman & the moment of silence HE called for..................................16 secs. I'd expect nothing less than this kind of uncouth behaviour from Trump. His arrogant expression and the way he holds his chin up the air after he pushed his way through says it all really. His parents obviously never taught him any manners or respect for other people. He treats everybody with disdain, except his own family.
