Oh, and yes, there's a chance that impeachment will damage the Democrat's chances in 2020. But that doesn't matter. You still have to try and uphold the rule of law and prevent massive corruption from the presidency. If the Democrats don't impeach, then basically nothing ever is impeachable. This isn't Clinton, with (nominally) consensual blowjobs that have an icky power dynamic but don't damage the actual legitimacy of government actions. This is basically f**k**g with the very fabric of US foreign policy and US democracy.
Of course, the Republicans in the Senate still have Stockholm Syndrome and won't vote to convict, but the problem for that lies with senate Republicans not having any principles or morals, and possibly no independent thought processes. There is literally nothing that Trump could do that would get Senate Republicans to convict because they've been taken hostage by Trump and bought fully into his id.

Which means that if she does impeach now, she accepts that it must be an absolutely massive f**k**g deal, right?

with Clinton they could name a crime,, perjury The thing is, impeachment isn't defined by criminal statutes. It's for "High crimes and misdemeanors"

She was dragging her feet because she wanted to wait until next year, closer to the election.
This is not going to help Biden, who has steadily been losing his front-runner position among the Dems anyway.

It's political, true,, Nancy is being drug along, she is getting worried about getting primarried out, she is in a very liberal distract and the squad is pushing harder then she is able to resist, Trump keeps egging them on

Oh, the 3-dimensional chess strategy again.
This is all a grand ploy by Trump to make the Dems look bad.

It should not matter that the gop Senate refuses to uphold the rule of law or continue to put party before country. That should not stop Congress impeaching him. Play the game of 'if Obama had done that' do you really think Jim would have been all meh?

Well yeah. Obama was not without his faults, but remember how the right went absolute apeshit over him using a selfie stick in the White House?
"He's diminishing the integrity of the office!!"
Now you can turn the presidency into a money-making enterprise and it's not even worth a mention.

So the record of Trump's phone call to the Ukraine was made public and we find out that Trump asked for the DNC server and wanted asked them to work with his personal attorney and the US Attorney General to investigate Biden, his political opponent.
If he thinks releasing that was a good idea to get in front of the issue, it makes you wonder what else the whistleblower had concerns about.

It's a straight up mafia shakedown...
Nice shop you have here, eh? Very nice. Looks great. We've looked after it very well for you. It would be a shame if anything happened to it...
If, perhaps, you could help out my friend Tony here who seems unable to afford his rent, then I'll make sure that we can continue to look after it for you...

Exactly like a shakedown. Very presidential, more so than Lincoln even.
The White House emailed a list of damage control talking points over this and accidentally sent it to all the House Democrats. After they realized what they'd done they emailed the Dems to ask for them back.
What a well-oiled machine.

Why would it be intentional? And if so why would they try to recall them afterwards?

In other "winning" news, the Republican-led Senate just voted down Trump's national emergency declaration to take funds from the military to build his wall on the border.

It is hilarious that having started with it just being Trump and Giuiliani, he's brought Barr into it in the transcript, then in a press conference today brought Pence in. Meanwhile, Pompeo's in the sh*t a bit because of all this. Is he trying to spread the load around in the hope that it will take the focus off him?
