Oh dear. It looks like the Republicans have managed to lose a second red state gubernatorial election in two weeks. John Bel Edwards seems to be winning re-election. Which is very impressive considering that he only won his first election because the Republican was (as so often) mired in scandal. He had no right to expect a second term in a place like Louisiana.

the rep took SOS though by wide margin, only so much you can do for a weak candidate, Edwards ran as a republican-lite more then a dem,

there were two races, the dems one one and the rep won one, the rep won by 10 points I think, dem won by 1, if you noticed Edwards didn't have AOC campaining for him

all the best people..... www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-50471352NBC News reported last week that Ms Chang had inflated her educational achievements and exaggerated the scope of her non-profit work. It said that an NBC News investigation had found that Ms Chang: Created a fake Time magazine cover with her face on it Claimed a non-existent degree from the University of Hawaii Invented a role on a United Nations panel Claimed to have addressed both the Democratic and the Republican national conventions Footage has emerged back from 2017, where Ms Chang is interviewed and the fake Time magazine cover is shown. US media say the scandal has raised questions about the Trump administration's vetting process.

Looks like after trying to gag Bolton he's back. globalnews.ca/news/6208204/john-bolton-returns-twitter/Former national security adviser John Bolton said Friday in a series of cryptic tweets that he’s regained control of his personal Twitter account, asserting the White House refused to provide access to it after he resigned in September, a charge President Donald Trump rejected. Bolton and Trump clashed frequently on foreign policy and the president said the hawkish Bolton did not get along with others in the administration and was out of step with him on policy. Though can't help but think Bolton not being anywhere near power is a win win.

Trump'll get out of this impeachment; then he'll be even more unbearable. Woe.

Yep. That was always the argument Pelosi used against impeachment. He'll automatically be acquitted by the Republicans in the Senate who'll refuse to look at the evidence; and he would use that acquittal to claim innocence, and he'll use that as a marker that he is literally untouchable.
The argument for impeachment is that if you don't at least try to hold the President to account when he's damaging US security interests by bribing foreign countries with US money to sabotage US elections, then it's really hard to see what the barrier is - the Congress might as well just hang up its pens and cede full despotic monarchical power tot he Presidency.

Makes you wonder if instead of holding impeachment hearings the Dems should have held endless hearings into this as the Reps did with Benghazi, I lost count how many times they held those and still never found anything, though I suppose the Dems have done this for a couple of weeks and have amassed a huge amount of evidence and corroboration.

impeachment in congress is a low bar, simple majority, however senate requires 2/3 majority not so simple, Clinton was saved by one vote in senate as I recall, and he had a rep senate,,, he was later disbarred as a lawyer for the same offence,
it is not a given that the congress will vote to impeach, once it does the senate will hold hearings and witnesses that were not allowed will be called, all while the dems are doing nominations, I give it 60-40 they will impeach but who knows? Nancy may very well hold up the vote

you need to stick your head outside the bubble Jim if you think that. Sure infowrs Britbart and fox are pushing that line for all its worth, but its getting harder to do it with straight face. In fact, as it came out last night, Nunes had meetings with that corrupt Ukraine prosecutor just after the Reps lost the house in 2018 also trying to dig dirt on Biden on behalf of Trump, every day the swamp gets swampier www.cnn.com/2019/11/22/politics/nunes-vienna-trip-ukrainian-prosecutor-biden/index.html

The witnesses were never asked if anything was impeachable because that's not a job for a witness to determine.
But, I'll ask again, what would you consider "impeachable"?

that's it, that's your rebuttal, one of Jim Jordans rants. Even Sondland was laughing at him ffs.

I just watched the first half of that. It's hilarious. Gym Jordan's defense is that "It wasn't bribery because the Ukrainians didn't take the bribe". "It's not a crime to shake down someone and leave horses heads in their beds if they then don't pay the protection money."
What a f**k**g moron.
Also, I see that Gym Jordan's "questions" involved no questions at all. It involved him talking.

Gym Jordan: "The president said, 'I want nothing, I want no quid pro quo'".
As stated, Trump made a big point of saying this to Sondland AFTER the whistle blower came out. Up until he was called out on it, Trump did want something in return from Zelinski, as numerous people have already confirmed.
You're just putting your fingers in your ears and ignoring the inconvenient facts.

I've actually lost count of the many different ways the trump cult have tried to excuse, explain or dismiss trumps criminality, they've done just about everything imaginable, well apart from actually address the facts, evidence and confessions of the case.
