Meanwhile, when someone plays this clip during the 2035 Trump Movie, people will assume that it's more comedy, and not the actual Billionaire secretary of commerce, Wilbur Ross...
“I didn’t say that. I just said what he has said he has said. If he says something different, it’ll be something different. I have no reason to think he’s going to change,”

As for Cohn, it looks like they're going to have to extend this again

They chiselled his name from the Panama City hotel today. Also his golf courses using presidential seal on golf markers.

Democrats once favored tariffs, is that only when a democrat proposes them? once again Trump shows he is open to non-republican ideas,

I hear that N Korea has meekly pleaded with Trump to negotiate on nuclear weapons. Never happened under Obama.

Democrats once favored tariffs, is that only when a democrat proposes them? once again Trump shows he is open to non-republican ideas, Some Democrats were once reactionary protectionists in hock to demands of the unions, yes. But Democrats haven't really been there since the 70s (Bernie Sanders excepted). Tariffs can protect individual industries, but they never, ever help an economy as a whole.

What mids says.
So why couldn't/wouldn't his predecessors do it?
And the tariff war on steel and ally importation's got to be a good thing - in the long term. Not the war of course, but the reduction in polluting transport. More self-sufficiency's needed globally.
So apart from him (Trump) being a spiv surrounded by hot women, so far not tooooo bad, eh?

Trump actually isn't that stupid. And if the warmonger generals tried it on, he'd probably tell them to go screw themselves.
