The weirdest thing is that this is considered a protest in the US. Anywhere else, if an athlete shrugged their shoulder and chatted during an anthem nobody would give a rats arse. Of course, anywhere else, they don't play a f**k**g anthem before a domestic sporting event. And if they did play God Save The Queen before a match between Walsall and Rotherham everyone would carry on drinking and chatting. Flag and Anthem fetish and inflation in the US is f**k**g bonkers to start with. Pushing back on it should really be nothing to do with protest against anything but flag and anthem fetish.

And of course the ones bemoaning black athletes doing this protest are the first to go waaaaaaa free speech if some white supremacist is met with resistance while spouting their hateful protests.

I suppose that this is the practical definition of offensiveness.

Absolutely. Nationalism's a sickness of mind.

There goes Tillerson. Another senior member of the administration gone. He's been spectacularly useless, but we might dream of his uselessness given that he's going to be replaced by the dangerous Pompeo. This could be linked to Tillerson saying yesterday that poisoning spies would trigger a response with the Russians and Trump may have got all upset that he was going to actually have to react to Russian aggression

In the absence of a suitable adjective, the timing of Tillerson's departure looks "sh*t".
Less than 24 hours after his support for the UK position on the Skripal attack, he "resigns". Why? Might his implicit support for the UK dig up something that Trump might find difficult to explain away? This is getting more interesting by the hour. Goodness knows what the various positions will be once May's 24 hours are up.

From feckless to dangerous, nice. Though it's odd snowflake kept Rex for so long given he pegged him so accurately last summer when he pointed out he was a f**k**g moron.

Pompeo is more hawkish towards Russia mind, but also towards everyone else as well, snowflake will find it much easier to have his war with Pompeo as SoS

And now we appear not to have any idea who the acting Secretary of State is. It might still be Tillerson. But nobody seems to be sure. Good times...

well they also sacked Tillersons deputy, so it won't be him. Did anyone really expect it not to be shambolic.
the new CIA chief is a scary prospect as well, she ran a black site CIA prison where torture was carried out on a large scale and then destroyed evidence when it was shut down. It was bad enough when Pompao called the torturers patriots, but this new one is one of the torturers.

Even worse than that, I think she tortured the wrong people, people who’d been captured incorrectly, which is why she was so desperate to conceal it.

so a 20% swing, how ever it ends up, from the GOP to the Dems I note they are already out there with the excuses, weak candidate, dem more of a conservative than usual and so on.

Lamb says he is more of a republican then many republicans, will be interesting to see how he votes. are dems going to have to move to the right to get elected? this district is going away come November, Lamb will in the mean time prove that Dems must move right to get elected, or he will prove that Trump is right and that whatever the Dem says when campaigning he is still a Dem

Hahaha! Seen a bunch of this bleating from Republicans today. What it shows is that you want representatives who represent their districts rather than party line puritans. Lamb is a classic example of that.
Meanwhile, the Republicans have shown that massive tax cuts for billionaires, and rabbiting on about Nancy Pelosi, is not a strategy to win in the rust belt and Midwest. They have nothing to run on, now. They’re losing districts Trump won by 20%. If that’s repeated across the country (it won’t be) they’d be down to about 110 representatives! They’ve got to be shitting themselves right about now.

As for Lamb being “republican”, he’s pro choice and pro background check. These days that would never pass the Tea Party Purity Tests.
