I don't think anybody criticized Obama for taking the Nobel, it was the Nobel group that gave it to Obama that was criticized, in fairness to Obama he had just got elected and hadn't had time to do anything, even if he were going to
funny how times have changed, today Nixon would be considered Liberal and JFK would be a Conservative,
the liberals greatest fear today is that Trump might succeed,,,

Not knowing much about either why would JFK be viewed as conservative and Nixon, liberal?

Nixon: EPA, Gold Standard JFK: Cut taxes much like Reagan and Trump, was very much free market, stood up to USSR in Cuba Missile thing, sided with Republicans on Black rights

I don’t think being pro black rights would be viewed as conservative now...
I will check out the rest.
Although standing up to foreign aggressors isn’t particular liberal or conservative I would have thought.

A conservative would oppose any Special rights for Blacks, Whites, Women, Men, exc, do and did support Equal rights

But I mean any talk of rights for certain groups (“black rights” as you called it) certainly isn’t the conservative standpoint now. You just need to see how they react to athlete’s protesting...

I know of no one who disputes the athlete's right to protest, do however think that the National Anthem is wrong place, however it is the NFL most hold responsible, even then no one is calling for them to be jailed, no one is calling on a government fix, they are simply also protesting by not watching the games, surely they also have a right to protest

Yes but the fact they have an issue with what they are protesting is interesting.

the message is being lost here, the issue is the timing of the protest, people find it offensive that they refuse to stand for the Anthem, for whatever reason,
if the point of the protest is to get others to agree with them they have failed, people who watch sports do so to get away from politics, news, and real issues, not to watch self-important millionaires complain that life isn't fair,

It would be seen as respectful in any other situation ALA Game of Thrones, Shakespeare, proposals of marriage, being knighted. It's absolutely symbolic of loyalty.

Athletes have never been known for their brains, maybe you are right, maybe they are waiting to be knighted, or proposed to, it is just a misunderstanding

I think the point is they are fine with them protesting. Just not anywhere people can see them.

the protesters should be glad the pesky rednecks are no longer watching them

they have every right to protest, the NFL has every right to allow them to protest, I have every right to find somewhere else to go, or something else to watch on tv,
