Yes, they've done this before. It will be interesting to see what happens this time.
Could be that NK will cave because they have reached the end of the line on their current course. So it would be a bit like Reagan taking full credit for the demise of the Soviet Union. That said, NK has to be one of the worst places in the world to live. Opening itself up to the rest of the world would be even more of a win than stopping their nuke program. I would welcome that.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that the Norks only offer talks now that they have nukes. It’s nothing to do with Trump. It’s everything to do with the fact that they now have leverage.

Most of Trumps backers are quite anti-Semite, Bannon was just an out and out anti-Semite and so many he surrounds himself are now just openly racist. Wonder how he squares this with Kushner?

Fat Boy has offered to stop testing, Trump has offered nothing, it is Fat Boy that is seeming to back down here, this may very well prove to be a waste of time, I do think it is worth a try,,, don't remember him backing down for the Great Obama though

NK still holds Americans in custody. The Orange Fat Boy could have at least asked for their release before agreeing to meet. Then if they walked away without an agreement we still would have gotten something out of it.

They're backpedaling furiously now. Probably an attempt by Trump to get Russia and Stormy out of the news cycle for awhile. “Look, they’ve got to follow through on the promises they made,” press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said during a briefing Friday—raising the possibility that a meeting may never happen – even though the White House had touted it as a major achievement less than 24 hours earlier.
The comments underscored the complexity of staging a dramatic meeting between Trump and the North Korean dictator — and raised doubts about whether it may be possible to arrange such a summit at all.
The North Korea announcement’s sudden roll-out, followed by confusion and then tons of caveats, also followed a pattern of policymaking in the Trump White House, in which pronouncements often come before detailed plans are concrete.
At issue Friday was the nature of what the North Koreans had promised. Sanders called “denuclearization” a precondition for any direct meeting between Trump and Kim. But experts called the prospect of North Korea dismantling its nuclear program before the start of talks totally unimaginable.
Trump flagged the news of the North Korea meeting to reporters himself, poking his head into the White House press room around 5 p.m. on Thursday to say an announcement would be coming.www.politico.com/story/2018/03/09/white-house-north-korea-meeting-conditions-449448Yes, he is consistent.

So why would he want one? Doesn’t it come with a wedge of cash? Trump is always bragging about how rich he is. Why would he want one. For all the Right disparage the Nobel Peace Prize they always seem annoyed when their people don’t receive one.

I wouldn't think he would after the Obama Peace award, clearly it is meaningless, but I don't speak for Trump Why are you bothered by him not getting one then?

He might not want or need the cash, he’d probably have it anyway.
Lots of people, “pop stars” et al, don’t need more cash, but they don’t refuse it.
He might want his name on the Nobel Prize without any money.
I only asked out of interest if it came with a wedge of cash.

Right-wingers always disparage the Nobel prize. So given that and he doesn’t need the cash I am not sure why they would care about him being awarded it.

He wouldn't get it- it seems that actual achievements are looked down on by the committee these days. Still, the explosion of tantrumy outrage by the left would be something to behold.
