Trump is the only president with the balls to go to NATO and tell them they are dead beats and to pony up, there is no reason that the USA pays 70+% of NATO, time for them to be real countries and pay their own bills,
I admit, I have no idea why Trump bothers to go to the hell-hole London, should find a friendlier town somewhere in UK and let the Queen come to him, or find somewhere to play a round of golf

It’s a disgrace that Sadiq Khan should be involved in this let alone be among the organisers.

No. What London is FAST becoming is a city-state in its own right, where salaries, property values, the rule of Law, its relationship with the wider world etc. are all at variance with the rest of the country. Think ancient Athens or Sparta but in a modern setting, and you won’t go too far wrong. IMHO of course. Substantive issue: if Trump has doubts about London, f*ckwit that he is, then perhaps it isn’t the rat-infested swamp I once took it for.

It sums up the left really. Their ideas are unpopular so they can't get get elected. Angry and frustrated at this, they take to playing with balloons. I've been saying it for years, deep down the left don't really want to govern. They're far happier shouting from the sidelines.

I'm curious as to why jim feels an expression of free speech shows the UK can;t govern itself. Though as a righty and trupister he probably thinks government should clamp down on dissent.

with the mayor doing the balloon it is government that is protesting the president, not exactly free speech issue, just bad judgement, or rouge mayor, or the true position of the UK, take your pick,
with the free loader NATO, and the crazy at best UK, maybe NATO would be better off without the USA, I would love to see the troops in Europe return home, if they start now they could be home by Christmas

As much as I think Trump's statesmanship's about as solid as a Delhi turd, the balloon thing's as childish as it gets.

Trump is the only president with the balls to go to NATO and tell them they are dead beats and to pony up, there is no reason that the USA pays 70+% of NATO, time for them to be real countries and pay their own bills, That's a hilarious way of phrasing it. Nobody pays any percentage of NATO. There is no common pot of NATO cash that pays for the NATO army. It's a treaty. It's not its own fighting entity. Many EU countries don't pay the targeted 2% of GDP on defence, but if they all did pay it, the US wouldn't suddenly shrink its defence expenditure. Trump wouldn't suddenly say "Nah! All this high budget useless toys that I want and even the military industrial complex thinks are silly is going to be cancelled". He won't cancel the moronic "Space Force" or his bizarre idea that he wants 25000 more nuclear warheads, or tone down his bonkers idea that he wants to invade Venezuela to bring them into line. This whole line of reasoning is totally nuts from him, and shows a spectacular lack of understanding.

How is this acceptable?? London is quickly becoming a 3rd world city... Ha! This from someone who probably thinks Paducah is a thriving first world metropolis and the center of civilisation.

He isn't flying it himself off his back porch, ffs. Likewise, NATO isn't paid by the US in the way you think. And the US embassy in London wasn't moved because Obama "sold the old one for peanuts". It was GWB that initiated the move. Try getting your information elsewhere than out of the mouth of that fat orangutan.

And the balloon is not being put up by the London Mayor, he just didn't put any barriers to protesters flying it during the visit. When you actually understand free speech jim you have to accept it doesn't just apply to your side

Wow a week of bigly wins, after possibly the most lies told in a single day by anyone in history at the NATO summit 'NATO have all agreed to pay more and sooner' -Trump, 'er.. no we haven't you orange bloviating idiot' -Macron, Trudeau, Mercel et al. Another string of indictments of Russian who helped Trump get elected. www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-44825345And you gotta love the fastest backpedaling we've seen in a while at his press conference with May over his interview slagging her off royalty in the current bun, 'its all fake news folks' - Trump 'er... not its not, we have it all on tape, here listern' - journalists.

So, Trump is obviously a f**k**g terrible human being, and an even worse President. Corrupt, vile, and destroying the US state. But part of me does wonder why British people are protesting him. For all that he's trying to f**k up the USA, he hasn't really done much that's bad for Britain yet. He's been bit naughty trying to sabotage the Tory government, I suppose. But I don't imagine too many of the 250000 protesters are doing it to defend Teresa May.
