I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's an unlucky time to be an American. The two worst US presidents in history and they turn up one after the other! What are the chances?

A bipartisan group of lawmakers has introduced a bill that would, in the words of an aide involved in the process, give the administration some diplomatic “training wheels” and ensure that officials don’t agree to give away more concessions before North Korea’s nuclear capabilities are fully evaluated.
Trump claimed after his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore that the nuclear threat from North Korea is “no longer”—despite his own White House’s claims to the contrary.www.thedailybeast.com/congress-moves-to-force-trump-to-come-clean-on-north-korea-talksPoor Donnie, he still hasn't figured out how things work in the real world, outside of his head.

I saw it was reported rather than dismantling his nukes Fat Boy Kim is in fact accelerating development, he's seen what a paper tiger Trump is and knows as long as he says a few nice things and lets the blowhard strew a load of lies about how how he's achieved peace in our time with the Norks (to placate the Trump base who appear top accept anything and everything he tells them with no evidence of critical thinking between the lot of em), Kim can do what ever he wants.

He called Trump "Your Excellency", so overall it was a win.

His advisers had to impress upon him that it could constitute a breech of protocol if he were to grab the Queen by the pussy.

I'm still constantly surprised that this spiv is leader of the world's greatest nation: secondhand car dealer runs the US. It's a hideous indictment of US public mentality unfortunately.
Oh, and Prince Philip was never a bore - call him what you like but he was never a bore.

I can sort of understand the goal of making Trump's life uncomfortable. I really don't see the value of protesting in Edinburgh while he's playing golf in Ayrshire.
I find it hilarious that apparently the most scandalous thing that Trump's done in Britain, the thing that upsets Brits most, is walk in front of the queen while strolling past ludicrously dressed soldiers in Windsor, and keep her waiting so long that she looked at her watch. Oh my! The horror! It's even worse that f**k**g liberals are upset about breaches of royal protocol. Get a f**k**g grip. I feel grateful that I left that ludicrous stuffy country.

Yeah, it's hardly representative.
Anything Royal Family related is splashed all over the news so I guess there must be an audience but dunno who.

A bunch of clowns shouting obscenities in the street and waving placards is supposed to make a guy who uses destabilising rhetoric in a political meeting uncomfortable, your joking I assume? Trump won't give a toss about the protests, he has spent his life upsetting people to put them on the back foot, this is his SOP. What this visit has done is put a lot of cash into the local communities who probably ran out of ice creams and drinks in their stalls and shops, the taxis and bus fares paid, hotel rooms and fuel stations. Oh and it's made a bunch of placard waving trump haters feel good about themselves.

A mate had to step in at the last minute and do a bit of teaching at the OU yesterday. The reason being that the lecturer who was going to do it is American and refused to teach as a Trump protest.

I feel grateful that I left that ludicrous stuffy country. Not as grateful as us. Still, are you aware of the uniform and customs of your adopted country's most esteemed miltary institutions? West Point, perhaps? Or what about France's Garde républicaine or Italy's Carabiniere or Bersaglieri? Maybe the household guard unit of those other stuffy monarchies at the very apex of the national development index like, say Sweden, Norway, Denmark or the Netherlands. They all go in for a bit of early 19th Century chic. Now, I know that some folk think it's okay to rock up in your working gear (Israel) or to be obliged to bring your own trousers and footwear (Germany) but I'm glad our own people look like they take a pride in their history although I accept that might be difficult in the case of the last two examples. Perhaps they could parade in butcher's aprons.
