The County Season has started well. And England have just beaten Ireland by seven wickets in the first One Day International.
And they were right to pick Adil Rashid ~ he took 5-27
I'll be at Lord's on Sunday for the return fixture.
On the 29th. May - we have the one day against South Africa followed by the Test series. And then later in the season a Test series against the West Indies.
I also follow football as one of my many offspring supports Spurs - but I find Cricket much more enjoyable to watch. It's such a shame that Football dominates sport coverage - I realise why it does, of course, it is so much easier to package for TV etc.and subtlety is difficult to market.

cricket is much more of a commitment, footy, while enjoyable, takes far less concentration.

A freak delivery in a Melbourne cricket match left both umpires, players and the sporting world completely stumped. Jatinder Singh was clean bowled during a Mooney Valley cricket match, but as the batsman turned to confirm his dismissal, he found the bails still intact and suspended in mid-air. 'Nobody had seen anything like that before. Batsman given out after middle stump knocked out but bails astonishingly remained in place link

NOT OUT.
But the batsman should walk.

Pretty sure that's Not Out. If the ball hits the stumps but the bails stay on, it's not out. Batsman is fine to continue.

What Fandy said, I would say Not Out, and he should have been allowed to continue.

A batsman with integrity would still walk.

What the flying Fcuk is going on at Lord's??
If I was fit I'd be there - but just having to watch on line.
Must be like being at Heathrow in reverse - you're going to be leaving earlier than you thought.

I assume it's because England had already won the series so have basically fallen asleep.
Also because England aren't actually that good, and South Africa actually are, so we'd expect them to give us a spanking every 2 or 3 games.

Not quite. England are good...and we've just beaten South Africa twice. This morning wasn't SA playing well - it was us just doing our usual collapse!
Fortunately - with god being an Englishman - rain should stop play and we'll get a draw.

Also, England really aren't that good. Number 5 ranked ODI team, up against the Number 1 ranked team.
Given that the upper and middle order are prone to collapsing, it's not a massive surprise we're ranked 5. It's more surprising that we won the first two matches of the series.
I'd say that we have an outside chance in the Champions trophy, but no better than outside. If I was a betting man, I'd not take odds shorter than about 6:1.

Fine display by England to see off the Kiwis today, into the semi's no matter how they do against the convicts on Saturday

Yeah. And although the convicts are whining about how unfair it is that they didn't get to beat Bangladesh yesterday because the rain stopped the match, they were very lucky to get a point against NZ who were beginning to crush them.
I'll admit to a bit of surprise that we're through to the Semis so easily, and beat NZ so effectively. I had us third best in the group, and maybe 5th best in the tournament. Good stuff.

Did you write whore?
Although, I think of WKC as a sleeper agent of the Tories, so it kind of made sense.
