It's possible but probably of the least concern to normal folk.

You mean you're annoyed that I see through you? And UJ up above with a perfect example of how the term is used (waaah! People are disagreeing with me? Just "virtue signalling"). Just trying to save you from embarrassing yourself. I only have your best interests at heart. Don't worry - I don't intend to use "virtue signaller" all the time so little chance of me embarrassing myself.

I hear this killer used his student loan money to fund the killing, another kick in the teeth for the tax payers of the UK Why? It's a loan. As I can recall from uni, students used their loan funds on a heck of a lot of stuff not uni related...

I wake up this morning to discover that there's a massive police action on Banff Road in Rusholme. Nagging away at the back of my mind is that I remember Banff Road. I look at a map and it's a tiny little street at the north end, before you get to almost any of the curry houses. And then a synapse triggers at the back of my head - that's where Ben and Si lived, and were perpetually stoned during my second and third years at university. The police might be looking for Abedi's bombs but they'll probably just find several thousand spliff butts and the residue of a lot of amphetamine sulphate.

Ariane Grande is returning to Manchester to play a benefit gig on Sunday. Good for her.

Yeah. Good for her.
I imagine it's going to be mentally very tough for her, too. It would be different for some bombastic pompous rock star who thought he was changing the world - I can imagine a Bono or Sting going very, very shallow but serious after a bombing at their gigs. But Ariana Grande is basically teenage fluff entertainment. That's her schtick. So, doing that on the back of 20 odd kids getting killed is going to be both very tough as performance and very tough on her own brain.

Gotta be honest I'd never heard of Ariana Grande until 2 weeks ago, but I've got nothing but respect for her right now.

I have been aware of her for a while both in standing up to creepy disrespectful men but also because her song with Nikki Minaj is pretty awesome.

I didn't have the ability to watch it and wouldn't have. I assumed it would be a case of pass the sick bucket.

My initial thought when I heard Bieber was involved was "FFS haven't these people suffered enough" but you can't really argue with the cause and someone who has 60m followers promoting it can only be a positive thing.

Like Ian I didn't know who Ariana Grande was 2 weeks ago, but her fans seem to be teenyboppers, I like her now so long as I don't have to listen
