Excellent. Summary dismissal. Gross misconduct. Absolutely. Why doesn't Boris sack him?

Maitlis: desertion in the face of the enemy. Dom: mentioned in dispatches.

There's a lot to take issue with in that article. For one thing, he seems to assume that the relatively low death rate in the UK right now is independent of the lockdown, and in fact, somehow the infections would have fallen without lockdown. Secondly, he seems relatively blase about killing old people. And thirdly, he's totally ignoring all the impacts of C19 that aren't dying. Not many young people are dying, but there seem to be a lot of reports of f**k*d up lungs, kidneys, etc that will f**k up the rest of these peoples' lives. "Oh, all the infections now are happening in care homes, so there's no point in not opening up" would be true if the numbers were low enough that each infection could be properly traced to its source and that everyone that person had been in contact with could be traced, and could be isolated until they could be tested. But with the situation that appears to be the case in the UK right now, cases will emerge from the care homes and get into the rest of the population. And if the public actually bought into that part of the project, and were willing to accept the intrusion and willing to go into isolation. (There is a bleedin' obvious point about Dombo Cummings here, of course).

That's a shame. The government was doing so much better when Boris and Cummings were out of action with Covid.

The BBC thinks Emily Maitlis’s monologue last night was politically biased, but Momentum, SNP ,Paul Mason, Owen Jones, Carole Cadwalladr, Andrew Adonis and James O’Brien have all said it was brilliant, so who knows?

Speaking as a feminist, Emily Maitliss is a horrendous boot.

It was hilarious to hear her claim that she just asked for a night off. What a dickhead.

Well given that QT is supposed to be El Beebs flagship political show it would be appropriate for them to reflect the wishes of the country and its voters just occasionally.... We voted for Brexit in 2016 & more recently delivered the Cons a thumping 80 seat majority so it would be nice just once to have a panel that is not completely against those things... Throw in the lefty leaning Miss Bruce in the chair and the obvious audience plants when they were present and you have a prog that is no longer fit for purpose...

A pro-Brexit panel would be a start !!! 4 years and counting.... Business leaders from the private sector. A right of center panel occasionally. An audience free of obvious "plants" magically selected by the Guardianista Miss Bruce that dont always conform to the London bubble. Some Europeans and American commentators perhaps etc
