Women are 51% of the population. It’s credible to have them be ubiquitous in tv. Why are you fixating on women? One trick pony?

Sounds like you watch too much telly anyway...
Opps, that was to Vania.

Very la-la eque. I just watch TV and think if a show is good or not. I am watching Breaking Bad and just think “this is a good drama”. Not “what are the chances of a Chemistry teacher joining the drugs trade and immediately putting established drug criminals in their place!” Skyler's a cunt, though. You'll see.

Now imagine that the chemistry professor was a woman who was only teaching college kids because she'd been screwed out of the royalties to her inventions by a ruthless, entitled, rapey ex-public schoolboy. And that she was heavily pregnant while she took on not only the pro-Brexit, Jerusalem-singing, ruthless, entitled, rapey ex-public schoolboy drug cartel while being a single mother to a highly insightful autistic daughter who is black and gay. Simultaneously, she is using the proceeds of making crack to fund the NHS and raise awareness of the plight of Syrian refugees who are, to a woman, thoroughly decent people.
Imagine that, or variations of that, every single time.

Imagine that, or variations of that, every single time. Seriously though that is the exact problem. When the story is secondary to the social engineering. The other side of that coin is the reviews. You see it all the time in the Guardian- virtue reviewing. Art and culture get good reviews based not only on the content but on the politics and casting.

The thing is, this trend is spreading with the rise of multi-national TV Series (it's been a long old winter waiting to move house, slipped disc etc.) I've seen rather too many TV mini-series written by smug progressives. I started watching French and Danish series but eventually the Brits get involved ....
The French series Spiral was excellent (female lead.) Very gritty.

You're right about the reviews. The Guardian is particularly craven. They were gushing about Collateral when pretty much everyone else was laughing their bollocks off at it. Talk about Emperor's New Clothes.

I've been rewatching the American version of The Killing. Female lead too, excellent series.

Excellent article and interesting replies ... I suspect that one or two high profile cross party MPs will break ranks soon and begin a grass roots campaign to have this whole area examined by public enquiry. It will also begin to emerge as the worst&widest social / political coverup for a generation.

There's a fairly large unaddressed problem here: that of excessive public reaction to the activities of a tiny percentage of the Muslim community: innocent people are going to get hurt.

Really horrible this. Amazing that it could have gone on so long, with so many victims in a relatively small place with nothing being done about it. Lots of lives destroyed.

Holy Jesus f**k**g Christ the she’s a retard:
“Why aren’t actors being photographed walking round Telford in their expensive black gown”
That said she’s right in that it’s utterly distasteful when people only care about the widespread abuse of women when they can make political hay out of it.
Like this article. If the only thing that you consider newsworthy about Telford is that certain celebrities haven’t taken it on as a cause célèbre - then you’re part of the f**k**g problem.
(Just a note: the MeToo movement was actually started 10 years ago, and not by “financially secure middle class white women”. Wonder if Spiked was interested in it back then...#rhetoricalquestion)
