The EU was formed in the 90s to help foster peace and economic collaboration among European nations. This came after a long history of conflict and rivalry within the European continent which culminated with the first and second world wars.

NATO is the 'EU Army'. With one serious flaw. It's under the command of the United States. Kick out the Americans and reform and rebrand it as The European Defence Alliance.

NATO agreement that each country spend 2% of GDP on defense,,, few do, why you guys want to be partners with the dead-beat countries that don't is beyond me
