Brexit 'failings' discussed at secret cross-party talks with top Tory Michael Gove. The summit was held at Ditchley Park Sunlit Uplands country house and was attended by both Leave and Remain figures. Of one thing we can be reasonably certain: The undoubted stunning success sh*tshow that Brexit is turning out to be is all the fault of the Remain camp. OK, so we didn't have the press barons in our camp, or the money that pays for their lies, or the vote on the day (albeit seven years ago, with a good proportion of Brexiteers now six-feet under), or the temerity to stick a really big lie on the side of a bus etc. etc. etc. ... but apart from that, it's all Remain's fault. And anyway, the stunning successes that Brexit has delivered - lots of trade deals, control of our borders & immigration, no staff shortages in agriculture, hospitality & the NHS, blue passports etc. etc. etc. all completely eclipse the small number of minor hiccups along the way.

Yes, it's all Remain's fault it's been a complete disaster because Remainers didn't believe in it hard enough and well enough. Even though Brexit parties have been in power since Brexit, and even though the main opposition party has also gone full Brexit, as well as the entire UK media landscape buying fully into Brexit.

How so, numpty? You had the votes, you have the power, you have the majority of the press, ditto the broadcasters, you have the funding ... and yet, and yet ... it's the fault of the losing side and what you think it is that they stand for.
You clearly have no idea how this looks or sounds to the average outsider.

Ha! Desperate stuff. You have all the power and all the media and all the money and you still f**k it up and then pretend it would have just been brilliant if it only wasn't for the corrupt deep state fifth column sabotaging you.
Desperate and paranoid.

Civil Service have sat on their hands, Foggy. Oh so it really IS someone else's fault? Lemme ask you a question, then, Einstein: who d'you think is in charge of the Civil Service? Starmer? The LibDems? The SNP? The EU? Let's face it, you know the answer, and yet you still believe the Tories are the Strength-in-Depth party. As they say in the Navy, you might want to check that you've got both your oars in the water, old son.

Don't be silly. There's all manner of lead-swinging in the Civil Service. It's institutionally corrupt.
There were a series of documentaries about it in the 1980s. Presented by Paul Eddington.

So, 40 years ago then. Nothing like keeping up with the times, eh? Corruption in the United Kingdom, in the public sector, is defined by public servants as using their office for private gain. Public sector corruption in the United Kingdom is perceived to be mostly rare, according to Transparency International's 2021 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) where the United Kingdom scored 78 on a scale from 0 ("highly corrupt") to 100 ("highly clean"). Transparency International's own website details the damning true extent of corruption found in many areas of the UK, including parliament and the NHS. When ranked by score, the United Kingdom is ranked number 11 among the 180 countries in the Index, where the country ranked number 1 is perceived to have the most honest public sector. Try again.

Pfftt. You're forever telling us how corrupt UK is.
You can't have it both ways, Fogster.

Rather a humourless, literal reading of my post. Tell me, is that congenital or have you been lapping from Van's bowl again?

"We'd have won the war if we hadn't been stabbed in the back at home" has a familiar ring somehow.
Oh and no one's been saying the UK is massively corrupt, only that the kloptocrats in power for the last 12 years or so, are.

Bollocks. The left's constant refrain is that anything that isn't a front line combat angel is a cheating ayrab.

Yet again, Worzel, some of us have English as a first language - you may want to think about that.
Aah ... I now see my error: I kinda assumed you could think without recourse to rather tired World War 2 memes, but hey. Play the English racist f*ckt*rd if you must, but I’ll then treat you as one. I’d rather not, yunnerstan’, but needs must when the devil drives.
