Haha, no, those are more traps than stalls. A stall has a fence or barrier to segment off a certain quantity of persons so that, should they stampede, there is a limit on the effect of that vibrancy on others.

That's what we're trying to avoid. A crush is different. I'll thinking of a series of lateral barriers that limit the crowd to, say, 10 deep per section. I guess that you'd have to have some sort of gate at each end to stop 'em bolting out that way.

While we're being a bit racist, there's another story in the news in the US. 4 Americans went to Mexico, got kidnapped, and two of them were killed. By a drug cartel. Who claim that it was a rogue part of the cartel who acted wrongly (and who handed over the kidnappers to the police).

So far, it's possible.

The story goes that these 4 people went to Mexico for cosmetic surgery. This is also possible. People travel to Mexico for all kinds of medical treatments because it's much more affordable.

Then I look at the photos of the people involved (at this link, say: www.cnn.com/2023/03/07/americas/mexico-matamoros-us-citizens-kidnapping-tuesday/index.html ) and I have to say that the odds of them going to Mexico and getting shot by a drug cartel look pretty high, and much more likely associated with drug cartels than cosmetic surgery.

Something didn't smell right about that story but, you trusted your latent prejudice, and now we have a much more plausible explanation.

Mind you, if you worked it out, how did they expect to get back across the border? Makes you wonder what was being implanted.

Well, I guess the innocent explanation could be that they were just making a road trip out of it. That's quite possible, but this is one of those occasions where the outcome makes you question a perfectly reasonable narrative.
