The Hadge is apparently quite a dangerous thing. Didn't a bunch of the Islamoleftists get crushed to death a few years ago?

Religion is dogshit, the more fanatical they are the further right they go and more idiotic they become.

I agree with you when you say that Islamism is left wing. They hate Jews, white people, Israel, the West generally, democracy, they're communitarian, want a one world government and are cunts. As you say, that's pretty much the definition of lefty-ism.

No matter how often you try and pretend deeply conservative religious types, who share almost every policy position you support, but are not generally white, are not extremely right wing, it's a loosing battle, I'm not sure you can even make yourself believe it.

It was 37/98 (metric/archaic) on today’s 60 mile bike ride. I was very thirsty at the end. I can see how people could die in the heat. It’ll be warmer tomorrow.

News said last night the heat dome over the north eastern US and eastern Canada has already caused a few hundred deaths, and they are expecting more.

Yes, I had to come in from gardening for a cup of tea at one point this afternoon. Might even have to leave the orangery doors open this evening.

It's a shame that people feel the need to do things like this. Elective surgery for something like this seems a bloody silly thing to do. www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0e8nd4z94joIt also seems rather unethical for surgeons to agree to unnecessary surgery, especially where it carries significant risk.

Sounds like an idiot, she was told of all the risks by the surgeon, but cos she'd "done her own research" she dismissed the warnings.
That being said I question the ethics of doing such radical plastic surgery, but I assume, like most elective plastic surgery done for vanity it's allowed cos adults are allowed to be stupid and do dumb stuff.

I have seen numerous examples of this surgery but almost always with men. For obvious reasons there are more with with a desire to be taller than there are women (who if anything benefit from being viewed as petite). Strange such radical and dangerous surgery for such limited change. But then I know lots of women with breast implants which I think are similarly daft.

“ Elaine believes she had body dysmorphia, a mental health condition where a person sees a flaw in their appearance no matter how others see them. The impact of the condition can be devastating.”
Seems unfair to label this as a Darwin Award candidate when it seems more a case of untreated mental health condition.

This may sound harsh, but science doesn't really care what Elaine believes. I can recommend Elaine read Self Compassion by Kristin Neff PhD which, as the title suggests, is largely about being kind to oneself, and which frequently involves sitting down with friends, family and oneself to reset expectations.

I am sure if she she saw a licensed medical health professional they would probably have arrived at the same diagnosis.
And “self compassion” would not work if you were battling a mental health disorder.

Research shows that it works best with support - like I say, friends, family, work colleagues, support workers etc.
