Shockingly not a catholic for a change, still why would anyone trust these christians with their kids, nonces the lot of em. A vicar who sexually abused a three-year-old has been jailed for the "extremely wicked series of acts". Gordon Newton, 40, who worked in Batley, West Yorkshire, abused the girl on a number of occasions. Leeds Crown Court heard he had confessed to having a sexual interest in children for a number of years. www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-leeds-58437999It’s amazing how when you learn what they did they automatically look creepier. “ Prosecutor Julian Jones told the court Newton's wife, Julie, had handed her husband's old mobile phone to police, who found 276 indecent images of children.” Hats off to the wife. Many would have hidden it out of love / shame / misplaced sense of loyalty.

I only remember one noncey teacher. Nothing ever proved.
I'm sure there are plenty, mind. They're a funny old breed: largely people who were satisfied that life would never get better than school so went to uni and then straight back to school. It's about the environment. I'm a bit more understanding about women teachers as it's a good career for mothers but the blokes .... dunno, it's a funny thing to settle for in early life but some people just realise that they won't like life in the wild.
I recently got a LinkedIn connection request from a uni mate. Lovely bloke, but cautious.

I enjoy teaching, been a nurse educator in the UK and Canada, don't do much in my present roll, but do teach families about what's going on and what expect.

During my time in Paris I taught English to adults.
I actually loved it - probably the best job I have done. Alas the pay is poor so I would never consider it full time.
Children are awful though. I am in awe of people who feel able to work with children full time.

Oh, I enjoy teaching. It's great. But teaching kids is a very different thing, mainly because it's Teaching, which involves very little teaching.

I think for a lot of of people it's a profession and it's probably the easiest one to get into. Also, a job for life if you want it. Thinking back to school, there were some odd characters.

People always belittle it as something people do because they can’t do anything else.
I never get why we demean the teaching profession in this manner yet so many entrust the education of their children to teachers.

I knew loads of people at uni who were smart enough to get into uni but not to do any particularly hard courses. They didn't want to get a manual job like plumbing or accountancy so they plumped for teaching. People plump for teaching. It's a thing.

I know. That’s what I said. People choose teaching but for some reason society demeans those who make that choice.

Society doesn't. Teachers aren't particularly highly thought of because a significant and vocal proportion of them are lazy, militant lefties.

Very true. All the best teachers were vicious bastards. Yes indeed ... I went to Jesuit college... where stories of punishments were legendary! Priests enjoyed thinking up knew ways to torture the kids...Alfred Hitchcock openly took his macabre humour from them .

FFS, and these nonces have the cheek to pretend their morals and such are superior cos their God gave them rather than us atheists who just choose to be decent humans cos it's the right thing to be.
