There's a pretty good documentary (and book) about the Wrecking Crew. It's mostly about Hal Blaine, Glen Campbell (session musician before he became famous) and the main bass player Carole Kaye. Worth a look. Watched it yesterday evening. I thought it was crap until I realised we'd been watching 10 minutes of pre-feature ads. Yeah, very interesting; and how they became the architects of their own demise. Unassuming, highly talented people. Some of the out takes are better than the doc. But shame they didn't play more of the sounds; copyrights I suppose. Made me realise just how much I love Motown. |

The only guitarist I knew of from UFO was Michael Schenker. This has caused me to look at his Wiki page and Schenker appears to be the living embodiment of Spinal Tap.
