Now I do vaguely remember this one, though can't recall any of his songs. www.cnn.com/2019/01/02/entertainment/captain-and-tennille-daryl-dragon-dead/index.htmlDaryl Dragon, one half of popular '70s duo The Captain & Tennille, died Wednesday, according to his publicist Harlan Boll. Dragon, whose ever-present captain's hat left no doubt about which half of the duo he was, died of renal failure in Prescott, Arizona, Boll said. "He was a brilliant musician with many friends who loved him greatly," Toni Tennille said in a statement. "I was at my most creative in my life when I was with him." Tennille was at Dragon's side when he passed away, Boll said.

Awww ... that's a shame.
I enjoyed The Captain & Tennille's cover of "Muskrat Love", silly though it perhaps was, but it raised a smile.
RIP sir.

Front page news? Really? www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-46985099"A mother may have been distracted by her children in the moments before a crash in which she and her six-year-old son were killed, an inquest has heard. Laura Hopes, 32, from Saltash, and her son Alfie died in the pile-up on the A38 in Cornwall on 9 July 2017. Her car was seen drifting across the middle of the road shortly before the fatal collision, a hearing was told. The inquest in Truro heard the most likely cause was distraction from children in the back or another source. Mrs Hopes was travelling with Alfie and her other son Tommy, four, when other drivers noticed her Audi A3 drift across the central line on the road between Tideford and Landrake." Very sad but quite a long time ago and quite errr ..... unremarkable. Dunno, perhaps we should be grateful that we're not troubled by tragedies on a greater scale.

www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-47159456Rosamunde Pilcher, author of The Shell Seekers, has died at the age of 94 following a short illness, her agent has confirmed. The novelist penned nearly 30 romance and women's fiction books between 1949 and 2000 when she retired from writing. not one I've ever come across, but for those into such stuff.
