I don't understand why those who are good at, say, martial arts (like McGregor) can be expected also to then have a Muse-like mastery of stage or screen. Non sequitur or what?
It's tantamount to saying that Joey Essex is a crap brain surgeon. Well, yes, but ...

Woman of the Hour. Quite good. Anna Kendrick seems incapable of giving a bad performance.

Agree on both points. I don't think I should like Kendrick as much as I do.

Anyone see "The Fall" with Gillian Anderson? Looks interesting. I saw it in a discussion of why British actors are often so good at American accents but not vice versa. Anderson in this series was said to do a good job with the accent (although Irish I believe).

The Fall is very good. The first season at least. Well worth watching. Gillian Anderson does an English accent though.

Finished the first season of The Fall. It was good, but I don't know if I'll watch the next two seasons. I was under the impression that each season was a different story, but it's a continuation.

From memory, the 2nd season is decent enough but it loses it by the 3rd.

So this week’s theme is “trilogies”.
The Lehman Trilogy (play) - excellent. I also watched X and Pearl, the first two in Ti West’s latest horror trilogy. Very good. Stand out performance by the lead Mia Goth. Interested to see how it all ends.

Have they become an image processing software company? A paint company?

I guess it's all about the image you want to project about yourself.

Anyone watched “ Bad Sisters “ ?? Loved the first season. It's great. Watched the first episode of this season and it seemed to have a bit less humour. Hoping that changes as it moves forward. Sharon Horgan's usually great.

After Nobody Wants This - which is great despite the jewishness - Netflix seems to have come up with another great half-hour-episode comedy called A Man On The Inside with Ted Danson as a spy in an old peoples' home. So far very charming.
Also on Netflix is the second season of The Diplomat which is great. I may have a bit of a crush on Keri Russell.
