"Are you a 15 year old boy? That didn’t even make sense." Quit projecting. You’re still ceasing to make sense? Why would I project being a 15 year old boy? That’s how you sound with your random “triggered” everywhere.

And put the Dem loons in the headlines, where they can do most damage.

I see trumps managed to totally eliminate the ICE raids and the Asylum law changes from the headlines! I still read about them but it is true Trump’s racism is dominating the news. The funny thing is I don’t even think it was a genuine attempt to direct the media away from talking about the ICE raids. I think it was just him showcasing his racism again!

And put the Dem loons in the headlines, where they can do most damage. Seemed like they were doing themselves more damage before he intervened on behalf of Pelosi. Although calling him out is pointless. His supporters completely share his views and the ones who don’t weren’t going to vote for him anyway.

Racist populism's currently fashionable among the weak of mind; it'll die out within 2 years max as everyone realises it's being conducted by blinkered arseholes.

Pressley: Democrats don't need any more black faces that don't want to be a black voice"Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) reportedly said Democrats don't need "any more black faces that don't want to be a black voice" during a liberal Netroots Nation conference on Saturday, a comment that comes as racial politics threaten to divide the party." “This is the time to shake that table. ... We don’t need any more brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice,” Pressley reportedly said during the event. “We don’t need any more black faces that don’t want to be a black voice.” "Pressley and fellow freshman Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) clashed with Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) after the four progressives did not vote for a border aid package last month when Pelosi put forward a Senate-approved bill." thehill.com/homenews/house/453007-pressley-democrats-need-any-more-black-voices-that-dont-want-to-be-a-blackMaking lots of noise about the suffering children,,,then vote against aid for them. They want children to suffer as propaganda.

I went to a talk today (Jelani Cobb) and he talked about our tendency to use euphemisms when talking about this kind of thing. So “resentment and fear” becomes “populism”.

I'm not sure I understand that JV's post that is Oh I was musing on the use of the word “populism”. Probably makes less sense if you didn’t attend the talk I did. One of the comments was on the increased use of euphemisms from the media. So we frequently talking about “populism” and the “rising tide of “populism”. Which is just a fancy way of saying “rising levels of fear and resentment”.

I think resentment may fuel populism but I'm not sure it's a euphemism

I think resentment may fuel populism but I'm not sure it's a euphemism Well saying “there is a rising tide of populism” sounds far nicer than “rising levels of fear and resentment”.

Yeah. "Populism" used to be a euphemism for lying about economic policy, claiming you can both slash taxes and increase spending. It was lowest common denominator bullshit economic politics. The idea was that thick people bought it and voted on it.
Now it's shifted to basically meaning "racism and incredibly heavy-handed law and order stuff". Still pitching to the thick and lowest common denominator, but it's moved from lying about economic policy to basically just beating up people who don't look like the majority.
