If Britain was like the US - with a 200 year history, and with a population that was 30% or more minority - then not ever having a minority figure on a banknote would be pretty damning. But the UK is 5% minority and used to be much less than that. With only 4 banknotes to choose from it's a weird complaint.
We have historical figures notable for what they did on our banknotes. I'm pretty sure that there are no British black people who've been dead for long enough who're notable for what they've done. Mary Seacole, for example, is mostly notable for her blackness. She was only "The black Florence Nightingale" in that she also nursed in Crimea - which completely forgets the entire "Founder of modern nursing" stuff that Nightingale is actually famous for.

Andy's right. I really can't think of a single black person who meets the criteria - British, usually long dead and a significant figure on the world stage, and not just in Britain. If it was living there just might be a case for Derek Griffiths

And with inflation at 3000%, there'll be plenty of notes in circulation.

Sweet jesus: Masculinity is a trap – which is why more men should wear skirts Billy Porter is a singer, actor and man of fashion. He is also a man who isn’t afraid to wear a skirt. Porter wore a tuxedo dress to this year’s Oscars and rocked a very fabulous, very pink, uterus-inspired suit-gown to the Tony awards.
Not everyone can pull off an upcycled velvet curtain, but it is a shame more dudes don’t try. As Porter told Stephen Colbert during an appearance on The Late Show, men’s clothing norms are mired in misogyny. “Women wearing pants is powerful,” the 49-year-old said. “It’s strong, everybody accepts it and it’s associated with the patriarchy.” However, “the minute a man puts on a dress, it’s disgusting, so what are you saying? Men are strong, women are disgusting? I’m not doing that any more … If I feel like wearing a dress, I’m gonna wear one!”www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/jun/19/masculinity-trap-why-more-men-should-wear-skirtsWhat the f8ck is wrong with these people? Don't they have anything better to do?

Gotta confess I think skirts are ridiculous and demeaning apparel for women. Seems they're all about making the female available to men, not only as a visual thing, but for easy access. The idea of men wearing them (kilts/sarongs etc) is absurd, unless of course one has excessively humid and pungent tackle.

Skirts look great on women. Some women. They're fine by me but they don't need my permission either way.

People should be able to wear what they want but I'm going to judge them for it.
