Severe weather warnings are in place across the UK as forecasters warn of heavy rain and storms.

In Northern Ireland, a motorist died when a tree fell on her car during high winds while more than 15,000 homes are still reported to be waiting for power.

Winds of up to 100mph are forecast there, with gales also expected in north-west Scotland and Orkney.
