And the moment I hear the first track it's Christmas.

Perfume ads. There are a lot of them because it's Christmas. They really must be the silliest most ridiculous ads we have. I saw one for a perfume called "Alien Goddess". Some chick was poncing about on what I assume was meant to be another planet. Surely that's a spoof?

Every time I see a perfume ad I think it must be a spoof, except it almost always has an actress in it who's so famous even I know who they are.
One of the things that most hilarious about them is how hard they try to not use any words at all - obviously designed so the same ad can run literally anywhere in the world.

It is, of course, a well known fact that every family in Advert Land is black or Asian. Unless it's a mixed race family - but - and this is very important in Advert Land - the husband can be black with a white wife but never under any circumstance must the husband be white with a black wife...that would be racist.

The John Lewis one was probably the best John Lewis one evz. Not a high standard, but it didn't make me want to throw up like they usually do.
American christmas ads have a handful with a sense of humour. Mostly they are deeply obnoxious with lots of Santas, but really bad Santas (not Billy-Bob Bad Santa, just ones that sort of adhere to stereotype without doing it quite enough), who are very excited that people are buying presents. Which makes no sense because the whole point of Santa is that he makes presents magically appear. Once he's telling you to buy something, it works against the entire Santa ethos.
Also, bad perfume ads.
And the ridiculous, but perennial, people getting new cars for Christmas adverts. And being surprised by their new car or truck. I mean, who buys a new car for someone for Christmas in the first place? And who does it as a surprise, when that person hasn't even taken the car for a test drive, and therefore will probably hate it.

I don't pay attention to ads anyway. If I'm watching ad telly, I mute it and do something else for a couple of minutes.
