Peculiar, as there is none as yet, just conjecture. So irrationalists. Tut tut.

well there is non if you choose to ignore the bits you don't like such as the numerous studies into the genetic sequence of the original virus and the latest one pointing to the probably animal it came from (what is a racoon dog btw), then sure if you do that you can pretend the ones producing and following actual evidence are the irrational ones.
though only those divorced from reality tend to do such stupid stuff.

I think admitting you don't know isn't being divorced from reality.

Had you said you didn't know rather than trying to pretend the evidence isn't evidence, then yes your lack of knowlage wouldn't be divorced from reality. That you persist in pretending it's all conjecture while ignoring all the evidence, now that is reality denying idiocy.

But the evidence you offer isn't evidence, just conjecture. If you don't understand that you need retraining. Evidence means proof of a direct link to whatever it is you're proposing: there is none, it's something you believe which may be misguided. Can't you see that?

There's a decent amount of lab work that casts doubt on the animal origins theory but like we keep repeating over and over, the jury is very much out. It's just not reasonable to come down on one side or the other.

I understand the 'likelihood' factor, but to claim that as evidence is bad science, especially when in this case the other 'likelihood' has been suppressed for as yet unknown reasons.

Pretty much. There are something like 200 recorded symptoms.

While I'm sure some long covid is real I suspect its fast becoming the modern ME or Chronic Lyme. I suspect the snake oils quacks will be peddling all manner of bullshit treatments soon, if they've not already.

Just been announced here (BC), all covid mandates have been lifted, no more masks required to enter hospitals here and no more screening or vaccination required.
Many of the staff plan to continue wearing their masks oddly enough, apparently pulling faces at management behind masks is a big driver.
Hopefully all the anti-vac scum nurses who were booted will stay gone though, the last thing we need are these science denying fuckwhits back amongst us.

Ever watched someone talking in strong light? They spit everywhere. If nothing else, covid's made me acutely aware of people talking in my face, standing too close.

We had a patient when I worked in the downtown east side of Vancouver (the marginalized drug center of Canada) in 2013 who had necrotizing fasciitis, this lead to him getting Fournier's gangrene (Don't Google pictures of this). It was nasty.

Over use of antibiotics and not finishing thr full course has been producing all manner of drug resistance. It's getting worse and some think we are looking at a future where antibiotics become largely useless.
It's been decades since we developed the last antibiotics, and more serious is the need for antifungal meds.

I see long covid is just public sector skiving. "Published in the British Medical Journal's Evidence-Based Medicine, the new paper looked at the definition of the condition by several global health organisations - including the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the World Health Organisation (WHO). The study argues none of the definitions "requires a causal link" to COVID-19 infection, adding any symptoms that happen after a confirmed or suspected infection could be considered consistent with long COVID. "In general, in the scientific literature, imprecise definitions have resulted in more than 200 symptoms being associated with the condition termed long COVID," the researchers said. Researchers also said the studies in the early stages of the pandemic are more likely to have included fewer patients with mild or no symptoms, which could have led to a sampling bias. They said: "Our analysis indicates that, in addition to including appropriately matched controls, there is a need for better case definitions and more stringent (long COVID) criteria, which should include continuous symptoms after confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection and take into consideration baseline characteristics, including physical and mental health, which may contribute to an individual's post-COVID experience." news.sky.com/story/long-covid-risks-are-distorted-by-flawed-research-study-finds-12969777
