I've looked at the subheadings. They're all about bioweapons. I'm finding it hard to believe that it's not about bioweapons.

The bioweapon conspiracy is just one of many doing the rounds, that it has little basis in reality won't put a stop to it and more than the others really. I know the banal reality is just a bit boring when you can cook up something that fits how you view the world as working. This is a good deconstruction of the 'Vaccines caused this' conspiracy, but its equally valid against the 'it was an escaped bioweapon' conspiracy. respectfulinsolence.com/2020/01/31/2019-ncov-wuhan-outbreakdue-to-failed-coronavirus-vaccine/

This is a good article, certainly something to think about. Was it a bioweapon from a virology institute? Had it been known before and already patented? Could homeopathic remedies help? All of these ideas about the headline-making novel coronavirus disease—now officially called COVID-19—are blatantly false. As with any recent outbreak, from Zika to Ebola, untruths and conspiracy theories spread as quickly as the pathogen itself. An emerging line of research exploring what might be called misinformation studies is trying to understand how and why fake beliefs arise during public health crises. Media coverage of the new coronavirus is still unfolding and has not yet been rigorously analyzed. But a study of two earlier epidemics that arrived just as new reports about COVID-19 continued to mount reveals the difficulty in reversing false rumors about a health crisis. www.scientificamerican.com/article/attempts-at-debunking-fake-news-about-epidemics-might-do-more-harm-than-good/?fbclid=IwAR2Bh_ZUXlhYoghuhMAYwhtEsF9wl3RGUTAm4Bwu1JT3CNpD5UV3e7PL5K0

So why do they manufacture ordevelop bioweapons.? Simple answer is to destroy populations with a built in Destruction timeframe . Thats the hard part. Kills the population and preserves the infrastuctures. Boots on the ground follow. Containment is even more difficult but theyll keep on trying. First it was the battle field but now itsthe cities. Thers a lesson to be learned here.

just cos they do make bioweapons does not mean this in one. We have a good understanding of where this latest corona virus came into contact with humans, how it spreads and the how this is different from the last corona virus to make waves, SARS.

you do know corona virus has been around as long as we have and from time to time it mutates and a strain effects humans, sometime relatively benign, others such as SARS and now, more of a problem?

The basis of this is that a fairly large percentage of the world's citizens no longer trust our leaders, and believe them capable of anything - a sort of inborn cynicism and distrust. Also, it gains the first person to come up with something exciting and new (although maybe completely false) a certain amount of attention.

you conspiracy cranks are no where near a majority, sure you make a lot of noise with your ludicrous conspiracies around everything, and boy its always a conspiracy to you lot, but most people really are, meh about most things, if they even think about them at all. Though you are right, its attention seeking behavior and a need to feel special having 'secret knowledge' (sic).

It's a form of hysteria in most cases. What I find irksome is that some use it to dismiss anything that doesn't fit in with or support their own beliefs or agenda: it's a convenient "fuck off I'm not listening to that" (mainly because my intellect doesn't stretch that far). Sometimes the blinkers have to come off.

look oolgs, we don't simply dismiss stuff, we look at evidence and consider whats possible, as I said we already knew where the corona virus came from its mode of transmission, how it made the jump to humans even down to which part of its genome mutated. Escaped bioweapns or vaccine gone wrong conspiracy bullshit, is just that, they fly in the face of every scrap of evidence and understanding of how and why occasionally a new strain of corona virus emerges that effects humans. We also know these viruses continue to mutate over time and almost always mutate to being less virulent and less harmful. This is not the first corona virus to emerge and won't be the last.
And yes conspiracy theorists do tend to the hysterical, i'll give you that.

"Dozens of protesters in a Ukrainian town have attacked buses carrying evacuees from coronavirus-hit China. The evacuees were brought to a health spa in Novi Sanzhary, in the central Poltava region, where they will be held in quarantine for 14 days. President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the protesters to show empathy. Ukraine's security service (SBU) said a fake email claiming to be from the health ministry falsely said some evacuees had contracted the virus. SBU officials are now investigating the apparent hoax, a statement said." www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-51581805Dunno. I'm starting to feel that the Ukranians are a bit cuntish and maybe no better than the Russians.

An average of 600 people a year in the UK die of complications from the seasonal influenza virus, most of them between October and March. In a bad year, more than 10,000 deaths occur, usually from Influenza A. In 2013 there were more than 13,000 deaths. Most deaths occur in the elderly and other high risk groups. In rare cases, flu kills people who are otherwuse healthy. This happens every year and yet many high- risk individuals and NHS workers don't bother getting vaccinated and no one wares a face mask. In contrast, by 21st. Feb there have been nine confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK and no deaths. Pandemic panic cases significant harm and overloads the NHS more than the virus.
But, of course, it's much more exciting that a virus may have been developed as a bioweapon or come from snakes bats and pangolins to kill us all.
In the mean time - just wash yer hands.

There should be more diseases transmitted from pangolins to humans. Pangolins seem to be treated as some kind of medicine by the Chinese woo-merchants, and are under threat as a result. It would be a good defence mechanism.

You couldn't drag me onto a cruise ship.
On my bucket list however is to take a month or two sailing the Mediterranean on a smaller craft and hitting various ports of call.

You could conceivably get me on an Alaskan fjords or Antarctic cruise, because those are places you can't really access in other ways.
