Right the wrongs of the past is just not the same as trying to erase the past. I mean really the last 150 years has seen a concerted attempt to retell the American civil was as a combination of a fight for state rights, aggression from Northern States, and preserving a culture and a way of life. If that's not trying to erase history I dont know what is.
Really this is much more about facing history and casting aside the bullshit lies many have perpetuated about a bunch of traitorous scum fighting to keep people as property where they could work them to death, beat, multilate, rape or murder them and face no sanction.

Same thing with Ed Colston's statue. Nobody seemed to know who owns it which apparently makes it difficult to prosecute any one. Maybe it's a Bristol thing.
