“ His barrister, Rachna Gokani, had argued Elphicke had suffered "the loss of his career, his marriage and his good character".
Well, well, well if it isn’t the consequences of your actions.

On today’s International Women’s Day, Guido thought it was time to celebrate the first female leaders of significant political parties in the UK. The timeline of trailblazers is:
Conservative Party, Margaret Thatcher, 1975 Green Party, Jean Lambert, 1992 Welsh Nationalists, Leanne Wood, 2012 Scottish Nationalists, Nicola Sturgeon, 2014 Democratic Unionist Party, Arlene Foster, 2015 UKIP, Diane James, 2016 Liberal Democrats, Jo Swinson, 2019 [Labour Party, NA, NA] Unless Sir Keir has a big announcement to make, sadly the Labour Party can’t yet properly participate in this list…

Boris Johnson's former deputy has said the Prime Minister is an "embarrassing buffoon" in a damning new book. In his memoir In The Thick Of It, Sir Alan Duncan also criticises former PMs Theresa May and David Cameron.
As well as describing the PM as "a clown with an untidy mind", the author claims there was a row over a report about diplomats treating him as an "international joke".
The book reads: "He is a clown, a self-centred ego, an embarrassing buffoon, with an untidy mind and sub-zero diplomatic judgement.
"He is an international stain on our reputation."

In the memoir, Sir Alan also says that Home Secretary Priti Patel is "a nothing person, a complete and utter nightmare".

Said the bloke whose career is over about a bloke who went on to be PM and will probably go on to be POTEU,if not Emperor.

King of the World, no less. He was handed the PM job on a plate because none of the other gutless bastards would touch it with a bargepole. He couldn't believe his luck - fame at last.

Silly comfort story that, really. He had been a highly successful Mayor of London and is highly charismatic. It's hard to quantify, but he's got the X-factor in spades, just like Winston.

I’m trying to work out who you’re talking about. Sadiq Khan has been the only successful mayor of London in the last half century, but it would be a stretch to describe him as highly charismatic.

Not hard to quantify at all - it's his naughty boy hair and cheeky grin. Dye his hair brown and he'd be selling used cars, or spending time as a sex offender in Shepton Mallet.

"My stats are better than your stats! Neerrrrr!"
Lies, damned lies and statistics. Matey would be a lot more convincing if he wasn't dressed like a punkah-wallah standing in front of a poster declaring his partisan allegiance.
Oh, and Grauniad. Pttf!

May have been once. I knew someone who'd been locked up there and he definitely wasn't in the forces.
