The BBC are doing their best for them, but Labour are shitting themselves as False-start Starmer has failed to live up to their delusions of adequacy.

Is this our thread for Tory Corruption? I don’t see any others on the front page of News General yet it seems to be the only story in Britain now that the NHS finally had a chance to save the country from the inept and corrupt quagmire at the heart of government.
My favourite part of it is Boris Johnson appearing to be upset that Dominic Cummings - the man he paid to leak and spread dirt around for him - turns out to be leaking and spreading dirt around.
Everything else is just depressing corruption and sociopathy. Boris telling the country to let the bodies pile up. Boris calling up his business mates to get them in on the action early during Covid. Boris and Matt Hancock making sure their unqualified mates and family were in on businesses setting up testing. Dido Harding getting hundreds of millions to set up a chocolate teapot of a test and trace system which not only shovelled tons of our cash to Tory Mates, but also cost thousands of lives by not being able to do the job...
If Labour had anyone more competent than Keith Starmer, the Tory Party would be out of power already.

Although it's telling that the entirety of "Tory" "sleaze" that the BBC have found is that he painted his flat.

Oh. I hadn’t even noticed that one. Him refusing to reveal any details on how it was funded, where the money went, It’s probably small beer but totally representative of the blasé attitude to spaffing public cash on his own fancies.

Well, it certainly wasn't public money. I think that's the point.
Either way, each of these silly allegations is no more than tittle-tattle. The BBC are busting a gut. It's like watching the last five minutes of a rugby match where they losing side just needs to sneak one score in against a solid opposing team: try, penalty or drop goal. Anything.

Yep and that's it. That's the entirety of the BBC's "TOrAY sLeaZe". He bought some paint at B&Q.

Also, I think we should institute poker rules for journalism: show or fold. The old "protect sources" gambit is pretty wanky in cases like this. If they've got a story, fine, run with it. If the accused party flat out denies it, then the accuser (inevitably the BBC) has to either prove it, get their source to corroborate and own the accusation publicly or withdraw the accusation.
It's not good enough to say that "we have other (unnamed, unverified or credible) witnesses (who may or may not have heard the same story second or third hand) so we'll just ignore the fact that the accused and plenty of named, credible witnesses say that's not what happened.

Alternatively, just close down the BBC.

He can't have been the source for the LD story. Long gone.

Not as funny as seeing the tory scum, after defending Cummings to the hilt for his covid escapades, now dismissing anything he says.

Amongst the most shocking things about the flat decorating scandal that will bring down the government is quite how ugly the 9800 quid sofa is. You’d think that if you were spending that kind of money on a sofa it wouldn’t look like it was taken out of the skip as they cleaned out someone’s grandma’s house after she died in 1975. Christ, it’s ugly.

And the owl table lamp. And rattan sideboard. And drapey curtains. It's the kind of stuff junkies have.
But the flat's a smokescreen for the rest, and the BBC's part of it. You can see it's working by the posts above - pffft... bloody flat, what's the fuss? Good ol' Johnson, just cleaning his house, while the other billions sidelined into their mates' pockets goes ignored. Poor gullible Brits; when will they learn eh? Surprised at our posters tbh - thought they were a bit more sussed than that. Not UJ obviously.

Of course, some of us us said all along that Cummings was a bad 'un. Strange to see some that had no time for him previously now claiming that "every word he says is true".
