Rishi Sunak's elite background doesn't suggest he has the interests of the ordinary voter at heart. Starting off with his schooldays at a very expensive private school and continuing with a get richer and richer career in the finance business. Onwards and upwards till he becomes a director of a hedge fund, owned by his wife's father, multi-billionaire Indian businessman and fellow Hindu, N. R. Narayana Murthy. Why mention Hindu here? Odd.

Rishi Sunak's elite background doesn't suggest he has the interests of the ordinary voter at heart. Also, erm... the fact that he's a Tory MP, Tory cabinet minister, and literally every one of his statements and policies, suggests that he doesn't have the interests of normal people at heart. I don't know why you need extra, tangential, data points.

In his earlier days I liked cheeky chappy Johnson for his tendency to say bollocks to the rules; he was a breath of fresh air in what had become a fetid political world. But like me, many have seen through this gung ho veneer and realised that basically he's an arsehole.
By way of balance I still prefer him to Starmer, who I see as a sly, backstabbing small-town lawyer done good, putting himself up as a decent chap. Ironically he also therefore damns himself as an idiot, as (nearly) everyone knows these days you don't get to be leader of the Labour Party by being a decent chap. A wiser man would have gone for Johnson's jugular from day one.

The Hindu caste system is good training for adapting to the British class system. The other point is that this is a regime whose whole purpose is to dish out favours to cronies, family members, allies at the expense of everybody outside the charmed circle. This is common enough in politics, and elsewhere, but taking it to the extent where it's one big bonanza and doing your job as a representative of the people mustn't get in the way goes way beyond the usual level of corruption in the UK. Being one of the Big Three Hindus at the heart of the Tory regime is a factor worth mentioning.
Priti Patel's racism is in line with Hindu nationalist values. With Rishi Sunak, the jury is out on that point.

The clusterfuck continues. www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-59701369The UK's top civil servant has stepped aside from his role leading an inquiry into Downing Street lockdown parties, after it emerged an event was held in his own office. Simon Case had been due to report on claims Covid rules were broken at events for staff last year. But his role was put into doubt after reports a party was held in his office while London was under Covid rules.

Ah, so what you've identified there is a problem in the public sector rather than the government.

it shows Boris utter lack of judgement, getting a bloke to investigate government rule breaking who was going to the same parties. His contempt for propriety is no longer endearing, its sinking him.
Still I expect large carving knives will be the main secret saints gift in Cabinmate this year.

you being so dim really makes these things string out far longer than needed. Its in the story I linked to, Boris's appointed this bloke to investigate tory shenanigans around rule breaking, I ever C&P's the relevant bit " his role leading an inquiry into Downing Street lockdown parties" a roll given to him by Bojo.
