If we can rehabilitate Mike Tyson, should we be looking to bring back Cartoon Time with Rolf Harris? Funny, how money changes approaches. It’s weird to be he has been rehabilitated but it seems to have happened years ago. I assume it’s the people who refuse to believe he was guilty. |

Tyson got rehabilitated, I think, by appearing in films like The Hangover as himself. Somehow it became appropriate to include him as a comedy threat.

I can't remember the last time I watched any boxing. I don't inherently disapprove, and when it's good it can be worth watching. But it's always hidden away on pay per view, and I have no idea who any boxers are, so there's no way to draw me into it except with comedy carnival fights like this one that everyone knew was going to be sh*t.

The sequels were both really lame and increasingly obnoxious. The original was sort of fine fun, but really didn't need Rapist Mike being normalized as part of the film.

It seems more likely that the kind of dong that was sympathetic to him wouldn't be overly troubled by the rape. A quick glance at the sleezy creeps and ladsmag culture of last night's "event" would instantly enforce that impression. |

Boxing is generally less shite than other fighting sports like MMA or wrestling or whatever. But that's not giving it much credit.
I don't really know who Jake Paul is, but the tiny things I've seen of him I would not be at all surprised if he was fully in Club Tyson when it came to the laydeez, and he's almost certainly sympathetic.

I remember loads of people calling the woman a liar (plus ça change…) even after he was convicted. But anyway being convicted or even credibly accused of sexually assaulting women doesn’t seem to impact men’s careers. If he had been found guilty of raping a child I am sure it would have been treated differently (although Polanski admitted to sodomising a 13 year old and is still a celebrated director so who knows.) |
