Okay, this might be the litmus test for the prestige of prostitution: would any of our members <snigger> care to own up to paying for sex with a sex worker?

Not many takers. I shouldnl have said "either male or female prostitutes". That might make a difference for FA.

I was always a bit squeamish about any females who were 'easy'. Not when I was in my teens mind. Anything that moved then. Well, almost..

Whether somebody has paid for a sex worker or not does not speak to the prestige of the industry (plenty of people would admit to watching porn which is part of the sex industry.) Although I don’t think anybody, anybody on earth would deny that the sex industry is highly stigmatised (although tons of people watch porn - go figure.)

Anyway, marriage is much the same thing in most cases: the man pays for his woman who becomes his cook, housekeeper, sex toy, social partner etc...

If someone is ashamed to use a service, it does speak directly to the prestige of that industry. Are you seriously suggesting that prostitution is genrally held in high regard as an occupation? Really?

Really? Where have you got that people have to be “ashamed” to not talk openly about using a service? They may be fine to use it and personally have no issue but don’t wish to deal with the stigma of others. But that also isn’t true as plenty of people are open about using porn which is part of the sex industry. And you are moving the goalposts. I specifically said “nobody would deny the sex industry is heavily stigmatised”. How on earth have you translated that to “are you suggesting that sex work is held in high regard”? Are you also struggling with words too?

The fact that there's a market for it, videos and stuff, shows just how sexually retarded some people are.
